My Abit KA7 started having problems 1 year before it blew up... 2 capasators blew all over the place more about a year ago... and now you tell me it's all over the place.
One of the best ways to have minimal bugs in your software is to write a testing program right along with your prize software. Making a testing program lets your test and record infinite possibilities and the outcomes. It makes debugging almost a thing of the past.
I am a very experienced Unix/NT Systems Administrator. 1 year ago I had 3 offers after looking for 2 weeks. Now I have been looking for work for 3 months with no luck. I get almost no interviews, and the ones I get really suck. It seems that no one is hiring as of now, and I really need the work. I have an older resume online at http://www.digitalsanctuary.net/tim and my e-mail address is on there. If you want to offer me a job or get a copy of an updated resume just e-mail the address off that site.
I work in the Southern California area.
Give the project your almost done with to your work. And redoo the project from scratch using what you learned from programming it the first time. Now your project is stronger and better then before because you first built a prototype (the one you gave your company!)
I know exactally what you mean. I am 20 and have a 3 years of work experience under my belt. At my last job I was a Sr. Solaris/Linux Admin and had 4 Jr. Admins under me. They were all 30+ years of age and 3 of them have their Solaris cert. But now I'm looking for a job, but I don't have enough Solaris experience, only 3 years....
But hey, it's what has to be done, I can't be tested on every interview I go on, a cert it good enough... but i can't get a good job to get money to get a cert in anything!!
Linux is for the people and by the people. If a company starts managing it then it itsn't what the majority wants it to be, it's what the money wants it to be. Which is the exact reason why people use Linux, BSD, and other free OSs.
As it stands right now, Linux CAN NOT DIE. But if handled by a company or a specific person it can, and bad things will happen...
It's aint broke now, so don't start breaking it!
True it can be watermarked, but who says that they have to know that I bought it... I'll pay cash for it and use a fake name or whatever, they aren't going to deny me to purchase that DVD because they can't verify my SSN or telephone number.
Also what if my DVDs get stolen, there will have to be somthing set up so I can report it... and if I am forced to register everything then I'll just report it all stolen
Big deal, why don't they stop trying to stop us from copying it and just give up.
I have my PS2 hooked through my VCR and it plays DVDs just fine, and plays games just fine as well. I have even recorded a DVD I own to VHS just to test it and it works fine.
Just look up what computers are DDoSing and start attacking back. Hack them back, or hack routers that are like 1 or 2 hops from them, and have them deny forwarding data. That will stop them real quick. I swear somone should do it, I couldn't do it all by my self.
haha, good one... I agree this name sucks, but they wanted to make sure about copyright stuff and trademarking. I hate the name, but I will still use their stuff!
are you shallow minded? did you read the article?
MHz is not what makes a chip fast in comparison to other CPU designs, you are comparing apples and oranges when you compare a P4 to anything else. The P2 and P3 are in the same class and the Athlon is modled after that class, so comparing MHz in this arena is fine because the difference is minimal.
Who knows, having a IA64 running at 500MHz might be faster than the P4 2GHz or anything else you don't know because they are totally different processor designs.
Great Post, my friends and I talk about this sort of stuff all the time. I'm glad there are other people out there that want to raise their kids. This country was built on freedom, but most of the people have forgotten that, and it will take something harsh for them to remember what freedom reall is.
"The card performs very well in windows (200+fps easily in q3a)"
I doubt it! My roommate has a Athlon 900 with a 5500 and the max fps I have seen in 80. Also my little brother has a PIII 800 with a 5500 and he gets about the same fps... I wonder what drivers you use to get 200+ fps.
ohh boy, Microsoft has out done them selfes this time... they can't compete so they want to take it away. If the NTFS code has NO Microsoft code in it then let it stay... just take the developers names off of it... just make the Kernel anonymous. Thats all there is to it, then Microsoft will try to outlaw Linux, that will be fun... I HATE MS now... I used to think they were all right, but now I am soo pissed off with them it's not even funny!
That was a great article... I just had a whole 2 pages typed up to post and Mozilla crashed... stupid beta software... anyways I just got done working at a company pulling 60 -70 hour weeks... I totally understand, and what did it for us was just getting the VP to do a weekend with us... Needless to say he couldn't hang. After that we didn't have set work hours and just worked on call. With just that we were working 50 hours a week and that was fine with us...
I've been through many manager that I would have liked to have killed. And very few that have been great. I think that what makes a good manager is one that has been in your position or at least trys to understand it. Also all the good ones, told us the truth about what was going on, the CEO would lie to our face, then we turn around and our manager would tell us what's really going on. The really good ones will be there with you ALL night working on the same problems with you. That's where the respect is earned. The really good ones didn't try to become our friend, but they did earn it... It really takes a ginuine attitude.
I just hope that I remember all this stuff in a few years down the line when I end up managing a crew. I think that from what I have seen from the my managers I can improve the workplace.
RedHat didn't have many upgrades in the 7.0beta. I can't see why they are releasing another version. I am happy with my 6.2 with the updates I do every once in a while... screw 7.0!!
you want a geek house... It seems that the college I got to has 5 of them. It's a great thing... and The one I live in I started, and we are about 1 year living togeather, it's fun... I wouldn't just want another geek to come and move in, it would have to be a friend. And our house itsn't a total geek house either. Most of us have lives outside of computers, and the shared areas have to be kept mostally clean. We have a den that holds some tables with computers on them and the servers are in the back. Make sure you have 1 guy thats in charge of the servers and the network, and then a secondary who knows how it all works as well... It's a must... some geeks just aren't big on networking or firewalling and stuff and can't figure it out when somthing goes wrong.
Ok guys I don't uderstand this one. Dr. Dre and Metallica are protesting MP3s all togeather. They are having a hissie fit. Then along comes Courtney Love, you may not like her music, but stop and look at what she's doing... She's being a dick to the record industry. And most of you out there are raggin on her for no good reason. Sure she's going about it in a different way then other people are, but maybe that is what needs to happen. She is trying to stop this stuff from happening in the furure, or at lease get the record companies to do what they said they were going to do, pay the artist.

speaking of x86/i88 ... does no one remember MFM?? it came before IDE, that all you had on an 8088 or an 8086

Want bugless code? never going to happen... but programming in Assembly gets you closer to it.

i noticed this about 3 weeks ago but thought it was grip's problem...

This is crazy!!!
Now, if she didn't tell anyone untill after the kid did kill someone then she would be held as an ocmplase (kan't sqell). The is all screwed up!

What's next? M$ going to give RedHat a chunk of money, I wouldn't doubt RedHat would take it as well.

I agree with your point.
being pro life doen't mean your no pro choice.
