I also got this message (ATI), and upgraded anyway. I really don't have any use for the acceleration. It's only recently that using the fglrx driver stopped causing my laptop to freeze on sleep/hibernation.
Surprisingly, I can now get desktop effects, without the driver. This makes the open office menus look ridiculous, so I'm not sure if I won or not.
Sadly, it was removed because it was too easy to buy for people who wasn't actually all that rich to begin with, so I suspect you'll have to torrent it.
Try the Ubuntu Studio theme. It's a really nice theme, even though there is room for improvement in color choices for text boxes/buttons in Firefox for example.
But I've kept the default background. It's relaxing and stylish.
The only ones using Endnote are already connected to a university or the likes which are going to pay for bulk licenses anyway. I could have gotten one without paying where I studied, but I don't use Microsoft Word, nor IE, so it's kind of a moot point.
Are they afraid that most academics are going to switch to OpenOffice, Firefox and Zotero? If they are, they should relax: That's not happening for at least 10 years.
Of course, you could switch to Renoise, which recently got an amazing linux port.
You'll still be without the vsts, though. Or try to use fst. Sadly, it seems Wine 0.9.9 is the latest version that doesn't crash when tweaking synths and effects.
What exactly was the benefit of installing SP3, besides more security?
It did install Genuine Advantage and checked that my install was legit, but that's doesn't really make for a huzzah moment, and I haven't noticed any change the short time I used it afterwards.
It didn't seem like that big of a deal, but security fixes are always welcome.

So just step 1, then.
So, when are the emacs keybindings up and running?
Then I know just the iPhone app for you.

Well, aren't you quick on the uptake. Good boy.
Wait, what? Are you trying to tell me slashdot isn't a site for reading slash and gay erotica?
That's it, I'm going back to wikipedia.

This is dumb beyond belief, but: If I only had mod points ...
And the next time that apple falls, I'll be sure to buy stock. I was too slow this time, but I'm sure he'll "die" a few more times.

Perhaps it's trying to tell you to spend less time online?
