Well aren't you special. I think if you are going into a rant about blank media prices, you are not shopping at the proper places online. You make it sound like you are payinf $45.72 per blank CD. I normally get my blank media at about or under 5-10 cents per disc.
I actually stopped and read TFA for once. You are correct and I will retract what I said about wireless. My fault on that kid
It is possible he connected to the wifi, and never touched the dude's pc, which it sounds like the case is.
Now is where it gets gross: the CP was e-mailed out to the neighbor's co-workers as an attachment. That means home slice was downloading CP to use an an attachment.
Also, the MySpace page the guy made with the same image should have sent red flags that it is not him and somebody harrassing him. How often do you hear of some dude doing that?
Also, how did this guy get his neighbor's coworkers e-mail addresses? He must have either: hacked into the dude's pc or hacked into something and did real hacking, or worked with the person and hence knew the e-mail addresses already, or knew the dude good enough to get the e-mail addresses.
Also, nobody, unless you have no remorse and are totally cold hearted, would up and try to do that to their neighbor. This article does not state what the neighbor did. Maybe the neighbor f*@ked his wife and slapped all 4 of his kids in the face and is a super massive dude that works out and is too big to go beat up. We don't know.
The CP part is pretty gross since the dude did not just go visit sites or something, he downloaded the stuff and sent it off (makes you wonder how much the dude downloaded).
I do think that we should not just assume this guy is a nutjob (the CP leads us into it, but even still) we do not know if this was justified or not. If my neighbor f*@ked my wife and slapped all 4 of my kids in the face I would do something back to him for sure. I would not download CP to get him back, but I would get him back (CL Personal ads anybody?)
You think that the dude hit Google to find what he considerred good child porn. I have no clue what that would be since I consider it all to be bad. Also, CP is such a common thing to plant these days. He needs to step up his game.
Also, did the guy hack it, or just get access to it since it was left without proper security, as I would not consider it "hacking" to access the neighbor's wireless.
Furthermore, I am one of the people that believe that people should understand the technology they use, or else not use it at all (you know, learn to drive before you try to operate a motor vehicle). There are way too many people who buy wireless routers, hook them up, and never touch the security because they know nothing about it. At that point kid, stick to wired, as it is simpler. No, I am not saying learn how TCP and UDP tramsfer packets, but I also did not say you need to become an auto mechanic to drive a car. Just a good, general understanding.
Maybe next time home skillet will put some better security on his router or else go to using wired
...we talk about our techniques for doing all of our fun stuff, and make it a single button click for users. I have not been to the website, but if it has a way so that you can view the source (unless it truly does it all through JS) then that might be interested just to see. Point it at a site you know can't be taken down from a simple DDoS Web app like Amazon and then view the code of what it is actually doing.
The way I see, it, we can all agree that programming is an art form. Our tool is not a paint brush, but a keyboard. Musicians are also artists. Many musicians can play a beautiful masterpiece without formal training and teach themselves how to be amazing musicians, so who is to say that another artist can't teach themselves to be equally as good.
It is a concept that has been slowly coming to light for years calling programming an art form, but it truly is. Some of us can be very skilled with our hands without the need for proper training.
As for good typing, the way I see it is that as long as words come out and you are not correcting yourself on every other word and you can push out 45+ wpm I think you are good. Especially for a programmer, I mean, I am not typing documents all day long. I am programming
I had a legit copy and was only told once about activation and never nagged. I don't know what versions others have, but if you want free, maybe you should go with OpenOffice instead of running your trial out on Office. It is seriously odd, because I have a MSDN membership, and got Office through there, and it said something when I first installed office, but after that, it has completely left me alone
Typing classes are like learning to write in cursive, they are nice skills to know, but you never have to use them. Any programmer will learn to type fast with time, and if you are on a keyboard long enough, you will get faster.
I still look at my keyboard sometimes when I type. I don't know why, I just do. I have a weird hybrid of looking at the keys and being able to look at the screen as well, but I can easily type 60+ words a minute on a good day and 30+ on an average day.
I also do not write in cursive. So many classes emphasized that you need to learn how to do it, but I don't and I seem to be doing just fine.
Please don't capitalize the word app and then try to make it an Apple thing. That is like me saying, "Please wash your Windows (in a Windows sense)". Sorry bro, but let's try this:
Sure, there are other apps that do this, but the "cutesy" text overlay fits in perfect with Apple's current line of applications.
Or so you think. This is going to get ugly the next time that the RIAA tries to sue people, hopefully. Since the porn dudes got their stuff twisted up, if I was the porn industry, I would sue the RIAA or whatever state allows the class action lawsuits to go through
Sorry, I typed that after watching Indiana Jones where they were brainwashing kids.
Ok, you are correct, it may not be just kids, but either way, it still stands that whoever is the driving force is doing a really good job. Why do you think in the other article about Scotland, they Scotland is having so much trouble getting these guys? If they wanted, they would snag somebody from the side and take them out, but they are not doing that.
I just have a strange feeling that something else is going on and we are getting blinded by the anon aspect of it.
What I don't understand is how Scotland is having so much trouble getting these guys. Even if it is on an attack by attack basis, you are telling me it would not be dirt easy to know what is happening and where? If these are just faceless anon people, then it should be incredibly easy to know what is going to get hit and when, but yet, the attacks happen as though these people have no way of knowing.
The knowledge is hidden behind something. I don't know what, but either the Scotland yard is a bunch of tards, or there truly something else going on that you people do not see. I am not saying conspiracy, I am saying a few will set the stage, and then stand back while others do their dirty work. It is easier to get away with it if you do that. Scotland yard wants those people.
What makes more sense? a kid/adult/anon person presents an issue before an anon crowd that is somehow everywhere, and then these people gather, with the issue presenter being the current "leader" and then they perform this task by going online and downloading the specific DDoS tool that the group leader made himself or possibly tweaked from a previous tool to make it work for the current objectives.
or...
A few "vigilante dudes" went on to places like 4chan, switching up usernames when possible, made a DDoS tool, and then tell these skiddies to go after some place.
Honestly, option 2 makes way more sense. Here is the thing: until proof is presented that they are not a true group with somebody behind the scenes directing these kids, we can't say one way or another. I could easily prove to you through logic that there is a central, small group running the show and talking the skiddies into doing these things just as good as you could for saying the group are formed per task.
I am leaning towards option 2 because that is the perfect way out. The skiddies are doing it, the group says that they are anonymous, and there is very little to no traces of it being from them. it is not conspiracy, it is smart as hell.
It would depend on how much in resources is allocated to sandboxing. If this is a static number, then what if the flash is simply a flash banner ad and has resources allocated to it. Now, if the allocation is fully dynamic, this could be very awesome. They would still run into an inevitable problem of not enough resources on the machine, but then again, that is hard to avoid. I truly hope Google is not going to statically allocate resources since that would be bad. I have seriously made a logo for a person in the past using flash. If the resources are static for allocation, then there is a very High chance Google will either allocate too much or too little to something.
A huge number of volunteers already quit once the elitist admins hopped in. In my eyes, the worst that would happen with editing is that the elitist admins would get all huffy and quit. Is that a bad thing?
How many people in the comments of this alone say that Wikipedia is a reference, not a source? I bet a alot.
If we dumped the current admins and brought fresh new ones in, or they thought of a better system for checks and balances (like an admin taking something out that was contributed, but multiple people can vote it back in), then it is possible to get even closer to a source. Sure, there will be jokes posted up there, but all in all, it would equal itself out in the end.
For example: if I figured out why the theory of evolution was 100% incorrect and proved it on wikipedia, I would technically be my own source, and just chose to post it on wikipedia first. Now, since I am my own source, poof, admin cuts it. Some people in the world are smart enough to be their own source, but too lazy to write a book.
Seriously, Wikipedia still has great potential, but they have lost hundreds, possibly thousands, of quality contributors. Them putting advertising on would help out and possibly scare off the current admins, or maybe Wikipedia will finally man up and do a once a month admin change or something.
You know, that is cute. Let's talk trash while being Anon in/.
Yeah, I may be a programmer, but I work for an NPO that helps with rehab programs all around the world, helps get non violent criminals back into society, helps the homeless.
I am no skiddie hiding behind some other person's cause and thinking I am doing good to the world when all I am doing is running a script some other person wrote for me.
I am personally doing everything in my power to make a difference in this world (and am very, very slowly succeeding). So when I hear people rapping on about how Anon is great and doing good things, it makes me need to go against that. If they want to make a real impact, fighting another person's war is not the answer. And some of the anon supporters I have talked to think that just because they are mindlessly following somebody's orders that they are somehow heroes to the internet. See, hopping into/. as Anon and then assuming I am doing nothing is a pretty big assumption. If you want me to post my work schedule for the next 2 months of what is all on my plate, I would be more than happy to show you that I am not kidding when I say I am doing alot of good for this world. No, I am not einstein of ghandi or anything like that, but I am definitely not some skiddie following some other person's cause. Here is a quick example: Today I was seriously working on a program to almost completely automate the process of homeless veterans of war getting funding from the government so that they can have a home to sleep in. Ok, person who wishes to remain Anon, what did you do today? Seriously, 1 day of work for me will make a bigger impact on society than the skiddies ever could. And trust me when I say I am not doing enough to make a difference. I should be doing more and am failing at that, but to sit here as Anon and tell me that some skiddies who ran some other dude's script to DDoS are doing more then me, well, when was the last time you posted on 4chan kid?
When they truly make a difference in this world, I will give them credit where credit is due, but thus far, their most famous things they have done are DDos's. Being good at it? Really? I am pretty sure I can run a script that another person on the net gives me as well. That doesn't make me good for doing it.
Also, if all of these people are anonymous, why is there some kid writing up a press release for these guys? Boredom? Maybe he thinks it is cool that he is a part of this stuff. Maybe he should not refer to the people he does stuff with as a group since they are all anonymous.
Also, have you seen the movie Old School? Frank the Tank sound similar to the bar example, and look how many people a drunk idiot gets to follow him when he goes streaking. Now try that at any bar and see what happens. I am 28 years old and have been to many bars, and if you go in there shouting for people to join your cause, nobody will and you will be cut off from drinking for being the weird wasted guy.
As for the guy that was on the news, let's say a group of people want to jump him in the parking lot. That group will not somehow magically not know each other and all up and randomly follow 1 guy who wants to fight him. This will be a group in the crowd that knows each other and even if it is one of the guys, since they know each other, they get each other's back and fight with them. Let me repeat, they would know each other.
There were two bar examples that were really bad. Have you guys been to a bar before? Have you guys been a local at a bar before? I am sorry, but those examples were horrible.
Here is my point: 10,000 retards can be directed very easily. Even if this kid got arrested, the reason for him being let go is so that they can go after the director. Whoever thinks these kids are not being directed is fooling themselves. Who wrote the program they all downloaded for the DDoS's? You telling me that they collectively thought a
