a good example in my area is the zebra muscle. came into the great lakes via the st. lawrance seaway and is not working its way inland via people bringing their boats inland from lake michgain.
gunlake is starting to have a major problem with them.
this is the worse case of pure uneducated speculation i have read on slashdot in a while.
first of all. there have been no life bearing planets found as of yet. NON ZIPPO. and we don't have the ability to detect smaller planets right now. that does not mean they aren't there.
oh it wasn't ment to ridicule you in anyway. i just have a love for speakers. please don't take offense to it.
and yes speakers are power hungrey devices. the average computer utilizes how much of its power supply's capable energy output? i have one sub that requires at least 300 watts to get to its maximum excursion. and there are some real beasts on the market that will take 1000 watts and beg for more.
driving that magnet back and forth takes a bit of effort.
the magnet is stationary it doesn't move. the voice coil(which is hooked directly to the cone) is what makes a speaker move. when electricity passes threw wire it emits a magnetic field when the ac signal that is sound goes threw it it does the same thing and since the voice coil is surrounded by a magnet the speaker moves.
So what makes you think there will ever be a situation where an armed group in America will ever be able to get 'justice' through force?
take it you've never had basic american history. if you have then you should clearly remember the revolutionary war.

Does anyone have a technical explanation if, and why, this would make a difference in sound quality?
same reason for using twisted pair cabling in networks. to keep noise and interferance to a minimum
Sounds to me that gracenote is upset that somebody is using a competeing product. IF they do happen to go threw with this case and if gracenote wins. It should be a slap in the face to lawmakers to realy look closely at the DMCA. if it can be used to stiffle competition by either legal means, or threat of legal action something needs to change.
Office is worth as much as the market will allow. if people still buy it at that price then microsoft has no reason to lower it. it sucks but *shrug* thats the way it works
why wait till this comes out, subs in bugs VW's isn't that difficult just takes some fiberglass and elbow grease:)

they wouldn't be able to use a ram-jet to get up to mach 3 without a rocket or something. a ramjet can't creat static thrust it is dependent on forward motion to creat thrust.
Incorrect. This site has to comply with the law. Whether or not you agree with the law is unimportant
incorrect. If the citizens of the united states don't agree with a law it is their duty to pressure the represenitives to oppose the laws or rework them.

would that not be technology designed to circumvate this so called copyright technology?
but science also was sure that the Earth was the center of the universe
actualy it was the religion that refused gallaleo's (yes i know my spelling stinks) idea that the earth was not the center of the universe.

With the pop up ads you close the window and they are gone
unless of course when you close the pop-up add 50 billion more pop up.

of course it would take a hell of a lot more skill to build a fully autonomous robot then it does to build a fancy rc car

it depends. do people in nebraska purchase things in texas? what if they move out of nebraska and take the condoms with them? not a very good analogy
