This thing is a mirror of me.(cept I like ho-ho's:) Although I don't like stereotypes, sometimes it is funny and this made me do two things. 1. laugh. 2. realize I need to get out more.
Gentleman, you can't fight in here, this is the war room..
I disagree, yes perl can be hard to follow sometimes, but the same is true of any language. I for one find perl easy to use and code in. its easy for me to look at other peoples code and see why they set up sub routine A. instead of sub B. but show me a chunk of C or java and I get confused. Saying a language sucks because you have a problem with it is pointless. Use whatever works for you.

Since America has alot of enemies airport security is going to increase. But why activists are upset at this is beyond me.. its not a change in the way travelers are searched. its just an added percaution. You don't have to be scaned you can chose just to be frisked. actualy looking at the pattern of blood brain matter and bits of skull after a 12 gauge slug tears threw somebody's skull at point blank range on a wall is alot cooler. that and a bullet threw the head will cause alot more bleeding then a cracked skull. mmmmmmm death Gentleman, you can't fight in here, this is the war room..
actualy, BeOS isn't cheaper. I've seen it range from 50 bucks (local software store) to 79.99 (best buys) suse is about 35 dollars. and Mandrake isn't that much more Gentleman, you can't fight in here, this is the war room..
AMEN, I Agree totaly. Sure our as/400 is secure. But doesn't have as many uses linux/bsd I use linux because thats what i'm good at. Gentleman, you can't fight in here, this is the war room..
no its because you don't know what your talking about. A linux server can perform only as well as the admin configures it for. The same is true of pretty much any os..... well other then nt Gentleman, you can't fight in here, this is the war room..
is proof enough. Just go to any leet hack0rz website and look. Almsot all of the programs on there are for windows security holes. I'm surprised that Microsoft even have a share in the server market. The company I work for is pretty much 50% as/400 39% RH linux and the rest is nt.(which is slowly being moved over to linux as well) my experiance is proof enough for me that NT should never be used for anything mission critical. Just because Linux can do something doesn't mean that it should. Tivo is the prefect example of a set-top appliance. It wouldn't be all that difficult for them to redo it with internet connectivity. But what would be the point. WebTV sucks hardcore. Linux has other things to worry about. It doesn't have to compete in all markets.
We are one more day closer to to having a gag shoved in our mouths.
whats next is somebody going to register the word name? or how about life? i suppose the pope will want to own God. this just sickens me. If something doesn't change real soon then the web will die. The web can't funtion with big business dictating what can be said/used/printed/ and the small guys can't afford to pay companies like this for use of a word/name THAT SHOULD BE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN.
going up against the source of the argument is worthless, we need to have a stern talking to to the people that allow this to happen.. big brother needs to stop supporting crap like this
For me the most significant happening was the debates over gnome vs kde that is what got me interested and even though I run window maker. Those two groups are going to spearhead the desktop inititive(!?sp)
