This is really not the brightest idea i've heard in a while, half of the dreamcast owners already do almost the same thing. They downoad the game off the internet, burn it to cd, bam, all the games ya want. Sega should just say, forget it, drop their stuff like they said, and open up the whole system, YAY!
Neat, but not really new.

The gimp I believe has had a plugin to do this, just not on the fly. I'm sure it wouldn't be a super-huge task for any experienced coder to adapt it for this purpose.

Understanding time
Ever have deja-vu?...That's understanding time, it's when your realize the past, present, and the future are all happening at once.
Finding telekenesis happens
It does, as does telepathy, goto psycom.com and do it for yourself!
I had a cyrix 166mhz before, and it sucked ass. Cyrix chips in general all sucked really bad, it's not just that they didn't have a famous name, it was sometimes mentioned, just infamously.
That's a ridicilous price, I have been waiting for this replacement so that it won't be a joke to play on the internet, plus I have cable. Now that it FINALLY comes out, its $60?? It'd be nice if I could've traded in my modem, at LEAST for a rebate!
It's about time??? Fuck that, NASA should be privately funded. Not to mention they aren't very productive with their money, every friggin thing they launch up there blows up and costs half the U.S. budget!
Why is everyone complaining that the distro's are too big? Didn't anyone ever INSTALL a distro? They let you select what YOU want, unless you just install everything. Someone complained that Redhat's distro is 3 cd's, SO WHAT? You could get by installing only a couple hundred megabytes and still have a quite functional usable operating system, you don't even need to touch the 2nd and 3rd cd! Linux is about customization, and this guy sounds like he wants a run of the mill windows install, minus all the freakin space it takes up. The average user doesn't need a "bevy" of compilers? Uh, developers need compilers there buddy. He also suggest that their should be ONE window manager, GO BACK TO WINDOWS, and tell zdnet to stop shooting flying windows out their ass. Sorry for the rant, just anger's me to see such morons get posted.
WOOPETY fuggin DOO. How about posting some more interesting stories, oooohh, alpha blending on icons in a kde cvs release! Holy crap my life is complete. Yea, moderate me down, just expressing my opinion. I think there are a lot more interesting submissions that could've been posted.
If they'd just port it to the win32 platform! Sure wine is convienant for anyone who runs linux/others, but what about Win32 users? I want to be able to run Ms Office in windows as well as linux! Lets get some Win32 emulation for the windows platform first, shall we?
Why would anyone want to hack it? To make it into a regular linux box? It's basically a cheap celeron computer with a big HD and a dvd drive. Wow, that's amazing!
I came across a really great update on the whole freedows thing. Just monday I saw a new "FAT FREE" version at the local 7-11. The bag looked pretty appetizing.
If your product is for businesses, or is very applicable towards them, simply sell support, and use redhat's idea. Do something like make the program open source and API's open source, but sell support. Business support could be like if they can't figure out why it doesn't work, let them call in for help. You could also have support for programmers for help with the API's, and sell a nice manual for the api's. Maybe try having business input, they tell you what's wrong you adapt it in the next version, so the businesses felt like they bout the programmers effort......OR something.?

For $400?...forget that, I'd rather buy a linux COMPUTER for that pricetag!
Obviously this guy never picked up his copy of Civilization: CTP......hehe

A soldier pretending to be in a delayed bathroom situation is actually getting mp3's off of napster and OOB nuking his kernel.

Dc already has an ethernet adaptor, and there is a nes and snes emulator for DC out too, that was ported from a linux one.

I dunno how many progams exist, but I do know that I really feel sorry for the guy that had to run then all to count them.

New Amsterdam Entertainment announces a new mini-series, Smoking On the Dunes, a cheech and chong re-union movie.
Haha, I've done the same thing, except with two versions of redhat. Came up with the same stragety!
