Why in the hell would they require permission to export them. Who is going to use psx2 for weapon development?....A band of terrorists?...no, they will just make some home-made bombs and blow shit up. A government?....who?....our government has enough money from us to buy expensive superior computers for that. Odd.
Hmm, I can't but help to question the intelligence and quality of tv programming anymore. Can't stand this Y2K crap either. NBC: "Make sure to watch out realistic film about what will happen when Y2K strikes, this is just an estimate. The movie will air at 12:00 January 1st."
hehe, and my friend was just making fun of this a while ago when he saw the advertisement.
I just learned a shortcut for this the other day. I found out that you can simply middle-click anywhere in the Netscape window and it'll paste it in the Location bar and bring you there right away. Talk about a hidden feature!
Okay now right click on a link, and hold the right button down, see where it says "Open Link in new window Button 2" ?....middle button = button 2, talk about hidden features!..Hehe sorry I couldn't resist myself.
Im sorry, let me correct a few misunderstandings. First of all, I have seen, and used konquerer many times, sorry for the choice of words (you have to be so carefull about what you say). And I agree, I would like it to be a seperate browser, thats why I said it's just built into kfm. It would be nice for it to seperate and become a better browser on its own.
Okay, I for one do not find netscape communicator or mozilla a sufficient browser for linux as of now. Right now, they are both slow, memory hogs, and crash frequently. Does anyone know if there is a future for Konquerer, the KDE web browser? It seems really nice, just no java yet and its built into kfm.
I can see it now, way in the future, the year is 2000. MAO inhibitors have been replaced with new silicon chips to make you happy, the government has a conspiracy where they say it makes you immune to some new plague, which they made up and it really just makes you a big fat walking telnet server for their pleasure!....Fido keeps begginf for food?....just telnet right in and make him not so hungry. That was a joke for all of you stiff-heads.
Your crazy. How about we just clone dirt?...wow, that'd be loads of fun, heh. I agree with the movie part too, ever see that movie with the giant killer rabbits that eat people?....Just last week I saw one! Luckily I got away before it ate me!
For those of you who think that we shoudln't "toy with god's plan"....I have a comment. A lot of extinct animals are extinct because we killed them, I don't see how bringing something back that we killed would be bad. And if there is a god, and he has a plan, no one knows what it is, so would this post be violating "god's plan"? Makes you think doesn't it? It's not like were making 200 woolies anyway, it's just one, so go complain about the killing and extinction of current animals, and stop bitching about bringing some back.
They used to sell big magnifying glasses for tv's back in like the 50's or so, not quite sure when. They also sold a magnifying glass to increase the viewing size on sega game gear. My brother had one on his gamegear, and just looking at games were very irritating and not the best quality, so we never used it. Heres a tip, forget it, don't waste a nice 15 inch monitor, your better off staring really close into your monitor, heh.
I got a few comments about all of this crap about mental disorders having to do with nerdism and geekism. I have OCD and ADD and I am a computer nerd, but it's most likely because when i was little I didnt have a whole load of friends and my dad brought home a nice IBM XT before most had computers, and I played games on it, and liked it. I have always been a game fan. So I got more into it (mostly for games) and now I am a somewhat shy computer nerd. I have many friends who are computer nerds but don't have any mental disorders, some are shy, some are not, it's really personality, not disorder. Put 2 and 2 together, kid with not many friends, looking for something to do, and sees a computer. TADA! Sorry for running on, I tend to do that, I guess it had to do with one of my disorders!
I am starting to get very pissed off with all these "20 billion terrahertz quad mega-processor" crap. I have not seen any of this cool stuff, and until it's out and I see one, as far as I care, it doesn't exist. ARRGG. (Score:0, Redundant)
Yea, I hear they exist, but I am still to see proof, or at least local proof. NO geek girls are located in my area, there are only a couple computer nerds in the first place, and I seem to be almost a leader. It's a sad sad world. My point, there may be some, but not many, and the diaspora of geek girls seems harsh on my area.
Sure that wouldnt take long to crack/hack, but if you put up a linux box with a fresh install and didn't configure it further thatd get hacked very fast. That wouldnt work, now other daemons and stuff would be nice though.
Is this just a trick to get us to crack/hack into their server, so that they can get help from the "smarter" community? Think about it, we crack it, they find bugs, who's winning here? If they admit someone got to it ( not that router failure shit, if there was router failure how come their microsoft.com site is never down?....hmmmm ). Still would be cool to get into it and rub it in their face.
Yea, linus is cool, but he isn't the man of the century! Even if you are obsessed with linux, he didn't make it all, he just made a kernel (much more than I have ever done though). Seriously, think of the others, my personal vote is going to Albert Einstein, his ideas were revolutionary, and showed people that even in the newier age, you can make so many amazing new discoveries. Einstein is the man, but then again it is just a magazine. I say we find the average joe somewhere and all vote for him, imagine, "man of the year, bob johnson of delaware!"
Just read a few posts about animal testing on this topic, so I think I will share a few of my thoughts. You know what would be really nice? If they could grow practically a whole human (without a brain of course, not living) and use THAT for tests on chemicals and such, instead of animals in labs. Say something were to cause blindness, they could squirt some of the testing matter into the artificial eye, and have the eye hooked up to a computer for readings. That could maybe be more accurate considering how animals differ from humans and I think I read around 40% of products tested on animals have to be recalled because they did not react the same way to humans. That would be awesome.
Damn I gotta start reading these things like 2,000 times, someone always manages to exploit my text. What I MEANT, is that if someone sees an act of voilence on tv, that I do not believe it will influence them to go out and kill someone. Not that if they see a candy bar commercial they may want one.
Personally, I can't stand that freaking show. Yea, a bunch of kids swearing racial slurs in an annoying voice which kids love to mimick. Funny at first, after a while the show got very repetative and annoying (mad magazine had a nice parody of the theme song and such). And even though I do not believe that tv/cinema influence children really, this show/movie probably will. Yea don't ya love it when children start using racial slurs they found from that lame show? It should've been nc-17 if it was that bad, and it would make it even harder for kids to get in. Yea, sorry about the flame bate, I probably wouldn't say the same for any other show, I just started hating this one after it got old and all them damn little kids started wearing those stupid south park shirts and hats and saying "HHHEHHH!, ahm cotman!, HHHEEHH!". At that point it got very annoying.
I just helped my friend install caldera in his machine, and I must say, it isn't bad at all! If you don't like the GUI install, get another distribution, it's as simple as that, quit bitching about it. It let you configure things while it was installing, which saved time, and had a nice tetris game at the end of configuring. I have only seen redhat and caldera (switching to debian soon) so my comparison is limited to those 2 installs. I must say, I still prefer redhat 5.2's install over the new caldera, first, its more informative, and more configurable (at least what I remember). Gotta love the tetris game though!
You can never really trust benchmarks by these hardware developers against other hardware, there is no way they are going to make themselves look bad. Look at the bar graphs, the way they made them look is 9% looks like 100% more than the PII, because they start at like 90%, there actually pretty simular, when they make them look drastically different. I am just going to wait and find out what people really think, in the real world. Benchmarks aren't all there cracked up to bed, in many ways. So I wouldnt go around bragging about this or that, just wait.
Why in the hell would they require permission to export them. A government?....who?....our government has enough money from us to buy expensive superior computers for that. Odd.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm waiting for my Transmeta CPU! Just hope they don't name it something stupid like Javalon with GGX technology.
Be carefull, this is a joke.

This may sound sci-fi, but maybe a computer could act as a brain to test this stuff. Anyone up for an open source brain project?.....hehe

Damn, and I thought one can of that shit was lethal. Diet soda = liquid suicide, that stuff is horrible! How do you do it?!?!?!?
How do you think Micro$oft got windows?
