I understand what you mean. I think it is more that it would be such a waste not to make both project compatible at least from the driver point of view that it drives some people crazy (let's forget the but-it-is-not-fair-not-to-backport-THATS-SO-UNFAIR kind of guys) since it would pool a lot of (tedious) work.
Unfortunately, few people think like me...am I just nuts?
Since you are posting on/. I would say taht you must be to a certain degree.:)
I don't think he is seeing this as a conspiracy against linux. He is just saying that some work may have to be done twice (because merging is not feasible) which is really bad for everybody. no one wants to maintain 2 code base.
Well, I guess it depends how you count. 90% of the PC market certainly not. 90% of the laptop market seems a little bit too much. But 90% of the netbook definitively seems reasonnable. If each teenager get one of those because they are cheap, the arm netbook will be arm or nothing.
After that point, the question will be, will arm conquer the desktop market. I don't think it will be done in the next 3 years.
well, It does not work that easily for DES. Since all the cleverness of the algorithm lies in how the bit of the key are used in the feistel cipher.
However, the Triple-DES algorithm uses 3 DES calss to generate a cipher of 112 bit (equivalent security). TDES (k1,k2,k3, msg) is DES_encrypt(k1,DES_decrypt(k2,(DES_encrypt(k3,msg))).
"problem was, when the chinese spies typed chuck norris into the human rights activists' email logins, the password itself would jump off the computer screen, hit the spy with five roundhouse kicks to the face, then smash their keyboard into dust just by giving it a hard stare"
That's why we need hackers to be skilled in martial art as in matrix!
What a great idea. Since I have notthing to hide, let just not use password online. I'll just say "Hey that's me" to the website and it will let me in. Sounds perfect!
thank you very much for those explanations.
the french reply means "Does anybody understand what AC said ? I am really clueless"

Oh! my mystake I misread it.
I don't believe in 90% of the PC market being netbooks. I don't see companies buying netbook instead of desktop computer soon to begin with.

TFA was talking about the Linux operating system and not the emacs operating systems...
A room with a coffee machine, one or two tables and some up-to-date newspaper will make people sit during their break and talk about the news.

even better iDontCare
7. Make sure it doesn't suck
well, TFA did not say it. But it is a virtual hooker he is writing...
99/100 people say "this project is useless", "you suck as a coder", and they just flagrantly troll you

I am the Pope! You insensitive clod!
You're right! let's make a rfc out of it so that no one read it.
the asshole lawyers[...](hmn, I wonder if asshole should be capitalized in this usage)
I think you can remove asshole since it is redundant.
If I were building a movie theater, I'd use enough rebar to make it into a giant Faraday cage.
Some cinema in France are like that. I recall the one in 'La Defense' being perfectly quiet despite there must be 300 seats in the room.
Don't call me asshole, asshole!
Don't call me asshole, asshole!

instead spend money on good song writers and good performers and make good music.
But that's difficult to find. It is easier to spend money on crappy engineers.
use a regular mp3 and put a unique identifier to the music in the id3 tag.
Do you think I can patent my update to mp3 ?
ekiga works wonderfully for me and is FLOSS

The japanese dreamt of it for a while ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samurai_Pizza_Cats
Shut up! Don't you know Ubuntu is the ONLY linux distribution that does not require to write kernel modules in assembly by yourself ?
