    While you may be able to detect a stealth airplane using multi-path, you can't use it to shoot at it & a F22/25 will be able to shoot down all non-stealth aircraft sent up against it.

    How bad do the air forces of the rest of the world have to be that this could shoot them down? :-)

    It may be that the software for turning a pile of Linux boxes into a rendering farm is free or less expensive or more efficient than the equivalent for Windows.

    Indeed. It's not a coincidence that only 5 of Top500's list are pure Windows environments.

    I am aware of that, though it's usually called Communion among Protestants. Like I said, I don't know anyone that considers it a prerequisite.

    If you're coping images as fast as you can, if you need to shut everything down to make new images you will have a massive backlog. And you don't have corporate bureaucracy double- and triple-checking that you didn't slip malware onto the image while nobody's looking.

    Its easier to recycle it and build next year's model, which will be cheaper.

    Pfft. My mother had had a certain washing machine for as long as I can remember. Never even serviced, as far as I know. New dryers, however, haven't lasted very long. She managed to get an one second-hand from a neighbor (maybe 10 years old) and hasn't had any problems since.

    Treat the project like an actual marketable product, look at UltraVNC homepage [uvnc.com] It's delicious, you'd almost expect that you would have to purchase it.

    It's a non-issue. If people care that deeply about it, they won't vote for a candidate that uses robocalls. If both major canidates use robocalls, people desperate for a third option will find one.

    It would have been a simple matter to imitate that desktop in Ubuntu even before Beryl and Compiz merged back together. Actually, since Ubuntu broke the pop-out window effect when they started including it in the default install, it was easier back then than it was the last time I cared about 3D desktop effects.

    Just the other day I was looking at a recipe but closed the tab. I didn't bookmark it because it was a one time thing but unfortunately I forgot one of the ingredients. Being able to type in "tomato" and finding the recipe web page was so nice.

    Meh. Depending on how much browsing you did after closing the tab and whether or not you closed the browser, there is the "Recently Closed Tabs" menu in History. Ctrl+Shift+T FTW!

    I keep an 'AwsomeBar' folder for frequently visited pages that I don't want AwsomeBar to forget about when I clear my history and such (Slashdot Comments).

    If you have short deadlines, you end up with issues similar to the bugs Ubuntu needs to smooth out every release. If you go with "It'll be finished when it is finished", Your stable releases can become ridiculously out of date between versions. Debian did a good thing by abandoning the open-ended release cycle in favor of the extremely long but predictable two-year deadlines.
