None of these really show that much in terms of wearable computers, mostly just dumb looking shiny costumes, so you might as well just look at the two that show some skin and go back to coding:)
My understanding is that Linux IS 64 bits, as it runs on 64 bit alphas. It should be a pretty simple hack to modify it when it comes time to run on a 64 bit x86 processor.

Where the hell have you been, the north poll? More people know who Linus is and where he works (transmeta) than people know who bill gates is.
Ummm, I'd be more than willing to put money up that says you are wrong. Outside of the geek community, Linus is hardly known at all. Sure, he is poping up more and more, but he isn't as well known as Steve Jobs, let alone the (in)famous Mr. Gates.
And ease up a little. It's people like you that turn people off to this little "open source" movement. Here is a newbie, with a simple question and you flip out on him. I'm sure when you arrived at slashdot, you knew every major player, their bio's and current job right?
I never said anything was wrong with you sig, however I don't think alladvantage has a linux client, so it doesn't apply to me anyway.
The article WAS stupid, but complaining about it does no good, Rob and co. will continue to post what ever they find interesting like they have been since the beginning of/.
Excuse me, I am far from being computer illerate and yet I find the X configuration a royal pain in the ass. And I do not feel like digging out the manuals just so that X will work
It IS a pain in the ass. However pulling out the mnauals is a pain I'm willing to take to ensure I get the best resolution from my monitor. It's possible to make it easier and make it so you don't need to know anything about you monitor, but like windows, it's going to impose limits. You probably won't have the optimal setting and ANY auto configuration program is going to have problems with some hardware.
So long as it doesn't get like windows where the ONLY way to do it is the easy way, and it limits what you can do. I don't think that will happen, but it still makes me wonder if after all these "user friendly" things get thrown in, will the end result be any better than Windows?
1) Get your monitor specs, plug 'em in and go with XF86Setup (or Xconfigurator) 2) We need some kind of auto-configure program that does it all for you.
This is the perfect example of the two opposing views for Linux. Do we keep it as it has been, not the most user friendly system in the world (actually requiring computer know-how to use the computer) but very configurable and powerful, or do we make it easy for anyone (Like a Mac) but not as configurable or powerful?
It seems everytime a graphical interface or "program-to-make-linux-easier" comes out, it detracts from the "power" or the stability of linux. I've seen many graphical configuration tools and they all have some kind of tradeoff.
My fear is that when we finally make it easier for the lowest common denominator to use, with it goes it's power and the whole reason we switched from Microsoft to begin with.
Should we even do this? Do we really want to change things to make it easier for EVERYONE (read: computer illerate)?

Super Frosty, you have no room to talk.
The original comment was about bad moderating.
Yes it was, preceptive of you. However I was not replying to the origional comment, I was replying to a reply of the comment further down in the thread.
Ok, the AC posts you have no way to verify that you didn't write. (I missed them, I read at 1 or above, checking these posts just confirms why)
I was (and so was the other guy you were hissing at) referring to the Alladvantage part of your posts. I don't see anyone supporting you there and I thought you were claiming all these posts saying Amen for that. As for your first post, I already dealt with that.
You really expect me to be impressed that a bunch of AC's supported someone bitching about slashdot?
This is a direct quote (entire post) from our friend, let's listen in...
Hey everybody visit this page and lets see if we can crash this site. Hit it. My friend doesn't believe in the "slashdot affect". haha
Ok, so this is your/. link? \ Man, first you were hard up to either A) prove your friend wrong and you right that the slashdot effect exists or B) drum up hits for a crappy little company. Now, since your little scheme didn't work, you are dedicating you time on slashdot to belittle everyone and claim this site sucks since it didn't generate hits to a dumb site posted in a comment???!!!
Sounds like everything is working the way it should. Except you.
But since it HAS been proven to run on 64 bits, it's a matter of writing another port right? I'm not saying it's easy, but it would be possible.

Were you born with a computer up your ass? Or maybe, just maybe you had a little to learn at one time. Fucking jerk.
It seems you have some inner anger to work out. When you want to act like you've been in business for 30 years, we'll talk.
Finkployd
let me put in a word that this might not necessarily be a bad thing if used correctly...
I agree completly. However, looking at the US government's track record, I think it's pretty unlikely this will be used correctly.
