Actually I just clicked the link at work while I didn't intend to, I wanted to open the slashdot post but instead accidently clicked the porn link. I'm scared now.
They release MacOS X only for Macs. Is there a reason why they don't release it for regular PC's? Is it because they'd like people to buy Mac hardware along with the OS? But maybe there would be more Mac OS's sold if they also made a version for regular PC's? Or maybe they do it because there are less possible compatibility problems if they only make it for their own Mac hardware, because PC's are too customizable?
AFAIK, artists may be able to earn more money by putting their music to download for free on a website with advertising, than by going through a record company.
When will the record companies finally realize they need to adapt?
It's really really dumb, but when I was much smaller than now I had this theory that matter and antimatter worked like magnetism where opposites attract. Matter would move away from matter, antimatter would move away from antimatter, and matter would attract antimatter.
So why would the earth then have gravity? Because there would be antimatter in the core! But why would the moon circle around the earth then? It would need to contain no antimatter. But then why can people walk on the moon? For that it would have to have an antimatter core too. And why would the sun attract the earth?
So the conclusion then was that my theory was stupid. So I shouldn't have posted it here, but hey, this article made me remember that weird theory I had back then I wanted to share it.
No, not necessarily. In fact, if you want a story, go watch a movie. Some games have a good story, but there it ends. After a few hours of gameplay, you're through the story and it's done. No replay value.
Games like Doom and Serious Sam have hardly a story, but how many times I just KEEP playing those due to the fun!
And that's what games are missing these days.

It's the point where machines will be able to evolve technology faster than human thinking can. So, it's the point where we are no longer the most significant sentient race on this planet.
Uh yeah, I hated it too, I couldn't express things I wanted well in this strict language, and then there were the people who'd make ridiculous things consisting out of 4 different diagrams with blocks with words in them that contain no info (just repeating the title), and 1 stick figure and 1 arrow, for the most simple things, that made no sense at all except for laughing at.
I can express things much better and make people understand it much better in free-to-do-what-you-want diagrams, than in UML.
Really? I thought there were enough K's yet in KDE.
There are some opportunities to reduce the amount of C's that they haven't taken!
E.g. KCalc isn't called "Kalkulator", KColorEdit isn't called "KolorEdit", and KDE Control Center isn't called "Kontrol Center".
For me non-webmail is a thing of the past, I love being able to easily access my mail from any computer anywhere (and I'm on quite a lot of different ones on different places). And GMail is the best of all webmails, so they sure made a good choice!
I don't know why I would buy one with Linux on it. I can install the distro myself, and I don't think the distro I use (Archlinux) is likely to be preinstalled on a commercial PC, usually those are distros like Ubuntu or other big names getting preinstalled. And even if it were Archlinux being preinstalled, how can they know which packages I want on it?
So if there was a preinstalled Linux on it, I'd probably replace it anyway...
Also, I bought my last PC without any OS at all, I just bought all the parts of it separatly. So that is certainly an option.
It's a loss if old plugins don't work, some plugins are nice but unmaintained. An example was PrefBar which also suddenly didn't work anymore in FireFox 2.0, until much later.
It's a shame that no backwards compatibility is provided out of the box.
Not saying I'm for the above idea though.

Does it run on Linux?

Hardware accelarated raytracing could also be interesting for speeding non-realtime rendering such as for making movies!

Try to invent a sport "Laptop throwing".
