To further support the fact that it's about making money and not safety (or else why did the Federal government have to threaten to withdraw Federal funding for highways if states didn't lower their speed limit to 65?), a friend of mine was pulled over the other weekend - she informed the cop that she was doing 65 because she thought that's what the speed limit was (for revenue purposes, that part of the highway drops down to 55 for a few miles, then back to 65) and he said he would let her go, but it's Memorial Day weekend and it's one of their biggest revenue weekends so they have to give out a ticket to everyone they stop.

I always hit the high beams when driving through there at night so I can make sure there isn't a cop sitting there.

Ok, I've read plenty of people BS-ing about how "vouchers only help the rich". No. Not even slightly. The CURRENT system benefits the rich. Why? Because right now if you want your child to have a good education, you have to pay TWICE and send them to a private school (you have to pay for the useless public education that they're not receiving, then pay again for the private school). This means that a lot of lower and middle class families cannot afford to send their child to a private school. Vouchers would eliminate the double-payment system and put quality education in the reach of a lot more kids.
