I'd quite like to see a truer adaption of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. While it obviously shares much in common with Blade Runner its story and world have (to me at least) a very different, and just as appealing, flavour to Blade Runner.
I'm sure the average neighbor consumes far more resources than most pets do. Also, I expect most people have a much larger supply of neighbors than they do pets, making neighbors the more sustainable alternative.

I misread it as a number of tools which were autonomously using fish in some manner. I do hear that fish oil makes quite a good lubricant.
