    I sustain 5 million hits per day on an Apache2+PHP server that (for me) indicates it's a "do-able" platform to run with.

    No, the purpose of the HR department is to minimize the chances of the company being sued. Any benefit to the employees is mostly a side effect of that primary goal.

    I played at IYT for some time before getting tired of it. All I played was chess, and there's (imho) a couple of better alternatives for that.

    Now, I use redhotpawn.com - nicer board, nicer interface, better forums, and GAME RATINGS.

    Perhaps you should learn exactly what 72dpi, 150dpi and 300dpi actually mean when you refer to a digital image?

    (hint: in the context you've given, they mean exactly nothing. digital photos have a pixel dimension - it's not until they're printed (or prepared for printing) that dpi means anything, and only then when a target size is specified).

    The email does have your name on it. What you're probably refering to is email that has your address in the ENVELOPE header and not the MESSAGE header.

    Before you say this is a bad idea ... it's required if concepts such as "Bcc" are to function.

    3. Timex watches come with an obsured battery warranty.. 5 years I think.. I end up loosing the watch long before the battery dies. (I've never replaced a battery in any of my digital watches).

    What's that? An obscured warranty? Or an absurd one? I agree ... 5 years is an absurdly SHORT time for a device that should be built to last for your lifetime.

    There's nothing concerning about digital images in the courtroom.

    Ask the photographer, under oath, "is this representative of what you saw?".

    If it was, he says so.

    It's really the same as with any other evidence that can be tampered with. If someone testifies under oath that it is what it is then there's no difference between a digital image and any (many?) other types of evidence.

    I'm looking at godaddy's registrar offerings with great interest as one of the features they offer (and which I've not seen elsewhere) is domain synchronization.

    Move your domains over, hit the button, and they all now expire on the same day. One post-it note on the fridge, one payment.

    (I said "looking at", not "using" since naturally I'm reserved about leaping into something just because the marketing looks good .... a trial registration with a single throwaway domain seems to be working out well, though)

    Personally, I think anybody working with images who actually needs more than what the Gimp provides either has bad photographic technique or a bad workflow. If anything, the Gimp actually still is overkill for day-to-day imaging work.

    I have three words for you ... accurate colour management.

    (Personally, I think you should start working with images yourself before passing comment on my technique or workflow.)

    I'm still quite happily using my 1992 vintage TUsh (v1.74). It has macros, triggers, highlighting ... everything else just confuses me. As I recall, the last update that happened to my copy was to change the signal handler for linux (seems it resets the SIGINT after each use and if it's not reinstated you can only use a Ctrl-C keybinding once since the next one bombs out of the client).
