I didn't hear Apple complaining when they sued Samsung over a patent on a box with rounded corners. Maybe now these giant companies will band together and lobby for changes in the patent system.

Yes, if you want your code to be human readable and self-documenting. If you want something with little or no fluff, maybe go the assembly language route?
The same has been true of cars and trucks for more than a decade now. People can't as easily be Saturday morning mechanics, anymore. If something is wrong with your vehicle, you bring it to a technician who can read from your diagnostics port to isolate what the problem is.
Hopefully he can fix the clusterfuck that Abrams left, and take the franchise in a new, and original direction.
I agree with you on this...I did not like the JJ Abrams reboot of the franchise.
Now, Abrams is supposedly producing and directing the new Star Wars trilogy...Prepare for disappointment.
The flaw in the Pope's statement is that there will always be religious fundamentalists who are offended no matter what you do. For example, draw the prophet Mohamed and they will kill you. Visit as an an ally on foreign soil and it will offend those who consider you an infidel trespassing on holy land. If you're a doctor performing abortions, you might offend someone to the extent that your clinic will be firebombed and you will be killed. If you are Israel, your very existence is an offense to many radical Muslims in the Middle East. If you are gay, you offend to the extend that your rights are curtailed or worse. If you subscribe to (insert religion)-ism, your very choice in faith will offend someone else who does not subscribe to your faith (or lack of faith). That's my two cents.
Offended that he specifically choose the wording of his post to offend Christians.
Isaac Newton was a Christian, who happened to be born on December 25th. You do realize that Jesus birthday is only observed on December 25th, don't you.
If you were in your 50's or 60's, I'd say you were suffering from Alzheimers or just having a senior moment. However, since you are in your 20's, maybe get a CT scan? That's just my opinion, as I have a complete lack of medical knowledge. Also, I'm just joking.
Who knows if or what resources we'd compete for? Energy may not be a problem if its cheap, plentiful and renewable. Food may not be a problem. geographical space may be a problem, use of the electromagnetic spectrum could be a problem, air traffic could be a problem, etc, etc.
"is the industry’s desire for lower-wage, more-exploitable guest workers, not a lack of available American staff." If they want that, they can start with replacing the highest paid, least skilled workers in the companies...the upper management.

...to the great relief of conservative pundits and politicians.

You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have trains with frickin' laser beams attached

I'm betting on "ignored."

I think after 19 weeks, you'd have at best, someone who can write spaghetti code for an application that may or may not work properly.
I wonder if this also explains why some people believe in an invisible sky daddy
As Stephen Jay Gould said, Religion and Science are non-overlapping magisteria
Why isn't there a designated place for bullshit like this?
There is a place called a church but apparently, the fundis aren't satisfied unless they encroach on other venues.
