I can freely admit that OSC is a bigot. I've also heard some choice words about him from a friend who supposedly met him in person at a book signing. However Ender's Game is one of the most popular Sci Fi novels of all time and the Ender series overall is pretty good. Also, I don't see any reflection of OSC's personal prejudice in his novels. The fact that he is intolerant has nothing to do with the success and authoring of his sci fi novels. If you liked reading Ender's Game, see the movie. I plan to. I only hope the screen adaption is good.
LOL. At first, I misread your post. I thought you said "PRAY is great. It is more effective and runs on most Linuces.". I wouldn't resort to prayer, myself.
As an added bonus, It might be an effective weight loss product too if the pill obstructs your gastro-intestinal track.
All jokes aside, this pill could have positive implications in addition to authentication.
I heard that Old Man's War was very similar to The Forever War, by Joe Haldeman. Any thoughts on this? I've read the later and thoroughly enjoyed it. Old Man's War is on my to-read list.

It seems that he actually has an interesting story beyond the usual attention whore "Oops, I had sex while a camera was pointed at me and now it's everywhere."
No, instead this guy is the "Hey, the gubament/authorities are always out to get me in a big conspiracy" attention whore. This guy has cried wolf too many times, already. I wouldn't be surprised if he deliberately set the fire himself.
When was Trek EVER "about philosophy, ethics, tolerance, gray areas and real world problems?"
Seriously, what fucking alternate universe did you watch Star Trek in?
I guess you never watched TOS or NG. Episodes brought to light issues that paralleled the prevailing topics of the time such as racism, transgender, homosexuality, bi-racial relationships, the cold war, what defines humanity, etc, etc, etc.
What Abrams did with the Star Trek Franchise was use all young/beautiful actors to portray the characters, use modern movie special effects, and take away most of the science that was usually the hallmark of the series (note: I said USUALLY) and replaced it with a lot of fast-paced action sequences. This may make the reboots "Cool" in the public consciousness but for me, the reboot was totally mindless and boring. I'll wait until the second movie in the reboot is available on Movie2K.com. That's right, I wouldn't even pay to see it on streaming video. I can't wait to see the disaster the JJ Abrams makes of the upcoming Star Wars trilogy, a la Disney. I'm sure I'll get down-modded by any ST-Reboot fanz here and I don't care. I like the old school ST...ST-TOS and ST-NG. Now, get off my lawn!
There is no way Fox is cancelling COPS and launching Cosmos. Expect the execs there to come to their senses pretty quickly and replace this with a reality show following the lives of transsexual meth-addicted circus performers.
Sadly, I'm inclined to agree with you. Anything that is smart and geeky, even if it dressed up with the wit and style of deGrasse Tyson, will be deemed too cerebral by Fox execs. They will move the show to an odd timeslot, the ratings will summarily drop, and then they will cancel the show, citing low ratings.
Didn't North Carolina recently make Christianity the official state religion?...Thus, violating a few federal laws that trump state laws, such as the Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment and maybe Article 6, Section 3? Truly, this is a backwards state.

I can see North Carolina, Texas and Arizona, which are red states, having this legislation...but, Massachusetts?
Soilent Green, anyone?

Me too...at the risk of getting modded down for adding another "Me too" post.

Wrath of Khan...the best Star Trek movie, to date...even though the special effects are 30 years out of date. Get off my lawn!
JJ Abrams is a Star.. TRAITOR.
He's not even a fan of star trek! And now he's doing the star wars movies!

Yes I totally agree. See my original comment.

You must have seen the "Carl Sagan for Rednecks" parody on Family Guy. If not, look for it on Youtube. Its hilarious.
No being fox it will go 9 shows they will cancel it and then there will be a 'cult following' and petitions to bring it back.
You mean like Futurama :-(
Michio Kaku would be a close contender but deGrasse Tyson has more Charisma and humor.
I'd mod you up a "funny" but I have no mod points :-(
Neil DeGrasse Tyson is awesome. He is the only suitable successor, IMO, to Carl Sagan for a remake.
