so, say, if one hand is blown off, I still have a few more left, no need to rush to hospital. an extra head won't hurt either. (with a possibility of starring in Hitchhiker).
and that's where most of the shit is coming from. US media don't show us everything what's going on there (like kind of demonstrations they have). One day there will be civil war over there.
I"ve just reading how in 1934 Hitler and his goons (like SS) invaded the headquoters of SA and shot everyone they could under the pretext of preventing the (what's become known as) "Roehm's putch". Speaking of history repeating itself. Blah...
My take of it: a prospect of sudden death when your quality of life is in general OK is something no one want to face. But suppose you health slowly deteriorates. At some point you simply don't care too much whether you're dead or alive.
for choosing the camera. Like those in dpreview. Many instances of gorgeous-looking cameras with great specs, and then review finds so many glitches it ends up being the 'average' or 'above average'. With a noise as one of key factors.
just like it happened in case of SACD vs DVD-A. Both offer some improvements (albeit often just marginal) over the olde Red Book CD, yet having two competing formats and a hefty dose of encryption so no copying is possible led to to marginalization of both SACD and DVD-A. For all practical purposes, the war between SACD and DVD-A ended with the regular Red Book CD as a winner. Will the history repeat itself? I think so. Just consider the following factors:
(i) Two competing incompatible formats (consumer gets confused).
(ii) Offers some improvements but requires the high-end, high-res equipment to fully appreciate those improvements. (1080p, anyone?)
(iii) Encryption/copy protection taken to the max.
Mach 20: Close To The Bone.

(a) CD offers the same 'tactile joe' as vinyl, even more so I would say.
..., I forgot that's slashdot, after all).
(b) you can't burn the sound file to vinyl.
(c) 'the kids' eventually grow up (well, some of them, may be
inside the spinning wheel, ehh make it 'magnetic field'.
slauthtered cow, now we're adding innocently slaughtered bacteria to the whole meal.
dealing with some data that can't be measured correctly anyway, like weight, hight, etc. "Continuous values", that is (vs descrete).
funny, the very first apple GUI looks just like Xerox workstation. Anyone remembers those? With Xerox network protocol (was it XNS?).

pretty intelligent design, eh? Oops ...
"imagine Beowulf of those"? Is slashdot going down the tubes?
Let's hope it will.
DRM it, and it will be gone.
> You don't have something to hide do you citizen?
Of course not! Who do you think am I? An anomymous coward?

did you face the prospect of death?
