I would tend to disagree, although you are absolutely right and people should be careful with their money. However, outright screwing people over cannot be justified. If I leave my door unlocked that doesn't give anybody the right to rob me.
I thought that the immortality only applied to when they stayed in the cave where the Cup was, and that if they left they would age like everyone else? Or, I could be on crack.

I disagree: every person in the world is entitled to this protection. The Bill of Rights doesn't grant these rights... they exist for everyone. If he is going to be arrested under US law he should get every right a US citizen enjoys.
What's the point of living if you can't live free. Check out New Hampshire. People up there say "Live Free or Die" and it's even on the license plates. Maybe the rest of the country should follow their approach.
When talking to some of my friends about privacy issues, even some of the computer geeks (I mean this in a good way) to do not have too many concerns about privacy and that kind of stuff, like they don't expect to have any. Sounds like one of those things where everyone will only miss it when it's gone.
Well, the games will be designed to have a slower pace. Why? Because you pay a monthly fee. If you could do things quickly, you'd spend less time and therefore less money. It's also a way to let people without broadband play the game. At least with EQ, I can play as good on a 56k modem as a cable modem and DSL... not so with the Twitch Games like Quake, UT, etc.
It's like the Malcom in the Middle episode that recently aired. Malcom's brother was talking about how in 15 years, when he's married to a super-model and has a Ferarri and billions of dollars, he'll always remember the guy who cleans his pool can kick his ass.
IIRC, the Chinese Military does not have ICBMs that have the range to make it to the East Coast. I think that anybody west of Arizona and that area was out of range. Of course, that articles was from a year ago and in IBD.
If we can ignore the thing about patented plants, it really has come down to a guy that got some stuff that literally "fell off the back of a truck," to steal from the Lycos ad.
I go to school at WPI, one of the colleges he taught at. The rocket was launched in Auburn, the next town south. This anniversary also gave the frat boys an excuse to make a rocket sculpture of snow in the fountain.
No, non-technical people with computers really are idiots. Bless my mom and dad, but they can't do crap on their computer. My mom did not know you have to be on the Internet to update software!! I know a girl who thought Netscape was the Internet!! Besides, if everyone ends up learning Linux and Unix, how are we gonna get paid the big bucks?
I would appear the telco says you are renting the lines, while most consumers feel they are renting the bandwidth. My roommates and I take a 640kbps down line and split it 3 ways... but the way it works out is that each of us almost always gets full speed because we haven't used it all at the same time since we downloaded a few gigs of pr0n when we first got it. This must work out the same way for a lot of Slashdotters.
Actually, the point of business is finding and retaining customers. With that comes the profits which raise shareholder value. At least, that's the Lotus plan.

If you buy any beverage in Boston you're supporting the IRA... there's a bar on every corner and three in between.
Well, I can use a belt to choke someone and a pen to stab them in the neck. Gotta get rid of them... only the gov't can be trusted with pens! Paper and pens can also be used for encryption. Time to go back to carving stuff into rocks and clay!
The Viet Cong and NVA lost every major battle against US forces. However, with the majority of the populous against the US, Vietnam was a losing cause. The US lost about 68,000 people, while the opposition lost far, far more soldiers (and sadly many more civilians as well).
According to Playboy, in NH you are least likely to be arrested for posession of small amounts of pot, since the state prefers to focus its policing budgets on things that actually matter, like the Mass-holes coming across the border to commit half the crime.
I have Verizon because our apartment couldn't get anything else. Yeah, uploads speed blows, but it's all we could get. Earthlink/Covad held us up for 2 months. Luckily, our router supports PPPoE so we can all use it. It uses G.Lite, and they had it to us 10 days ahead of schedule. There are periodic outages, but it's nothing great. Overall, we are pretty happy.
I thought he meant these new dual-GHz started at $3k, not the standard PowerMacs.

If the scrupt kiddies buy the hardware like we buy the DVDs maybe you have a case, otherwise it seems to me like apples and oranges to me.
You mean like in the Heavy Gear RPG/tactical board game?
My CS dept (before I switched to MIS, more what I like) didn't teach M$ at all! It was all UNIX stuff... bless their hearts.

Lemme tell you, I will not be re-electing this guy. He's always been the lesser of evils in the past, but I guess he didn't like second place.
