MGM gets all the money from DVD sales etc of the stargate franchise.
One of the reasons syfy keeps dropping the series, can't get enough viewership to cover the production costs very profitably. I highly doubt Netflix thinks it's worth it to buy the complete rights to a Stargate Franchise.

This has to do with if you go to the page from the home screen (effectively clicking a shortcut that takes you to safari) versus going to safari, then the page. Nothing to do with the available capability.
In both situations, you end up with the same result (page running in safari). When you use the home screen shortcut, you get less performance.
As to backends, if you're phone app requires CPU power to *wait* for calls, you're doing it wrong. (memory I can understand. actively polling a hardware signal? not so much)
Triple display + 3d.
need > 120fps with at least 3 times the resolution that your monitor has.
And if you consider the cost of such a setup, 700$ is a reasonable proportion of the cost.
Not saying it's a good use of money, just saying there are systems that can use this power.
Would like to add: it's not just a matter of mac users being motivated to benchmark their machines, but Phoronix.com targets a linux user audience, though they do benchmark OS X frequently.
Probably because you can benchmark every mac made in the last three years in a couple days. You don't find many people wondering about which part they should upgrade on their mac.
Also, it's crowd sourced software that runs on OS X, so mac users probably just aren't as motivated.
Personally I'm a little more worried that they would have tech that runs slow on AMD processors (much like their compiler does). Though not too worried - current regulation and cross-licensing deals seem to maintain a reasonable balance.
What they also confirmed was that mechanical issues were a factor. Just because there is no fault with the electronics doesn't mean the machines were perfectly fine.
So far there are three known causes of unintended acceleration in Toyota vehicles: improperly installed floor mats, sticky pedals, and driver error.
That's the second paragraph of TFA. What, submitters don't RTFA anymore?
The conventional wisdom now is that Sony did screw up by trying to push the Blueray in the PS3 too early. It made the whole thing too expensive and ceded the high ground to Microsoft with the 360.
Unless the point wasn't so much to beat Microsoft as it was to defeat HDDVD. In which case, big win. Maybe the wrong win, in light of the impending death of physical media, but still a win.
Well, the deal is $1.5 billion over five years. $300 million/year. Given that they bring in over 100 times that in revenue each year, I don't think that is going to be a big deal for them.
Yes, Google does not treat Linux users as first rate consumers. However, they do at least acknowledge our existence (Google Earth, Picasa (kindof), chrome, Android Dev tools). What NetFlix does is completely ignore us. By some definitions you could even argue that they actively ignore us (Seriously, silverlight? WTF?).
First, the correct spelling is Kwisatz Haderach. Yes, the "a" is important.
Second, as one who has read the post (which largely reads as encouragement for free software contributers), I would say your spelling of esoteric fictional figureheads is far from the only thing wrong in your post. Yes, liberty can be scary, but that doesn't mean we idly stand by while others stick their heads in the sand.
Works on any of the live CD downloads. Needs to be done as root. usbdevice will typically be sd[a-z]. setting the block size to 8 MB just makes it go faster.
Oh, I agree, LLVM is great. But it is silly to compare a mature, feature complete project to a new project on the basis of speed (though I think ultimately LLDB will remain faster).

And I suppose now that iOS supports being a wireless hotspot Android imitated that from apple too, eh?

+1 informative.

Your solution produces "asp gap"
They did come out with a netbook shell for smaller screens.
And the new defaults seem much more space oriented - smaller taskbar size at the the bottom, thinner window decorations etc.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just copy the solutions pages at the back?

And your solution for when you need lower level functions is? ie. for when you need to do something like program a rocket.
change-log for the EXT3 file-system that was used throughout
Quote is available on the third page of the article, first paragraph.
Some off the changes noted in the Linux 2.6.30 kernel change-log that was used throughout the Linux testing process included...
Yeah, that new EXT4 filesystem that they didn't use for obvious reasons. Huge impact on the results.
Agreed. Real lesson of the article: The government is competent at risk management.
