If you do this, you have to promise not to complain when their DHCP server starts churning out new IP addresses to you ever day or so, screwing the folks who use dynamic DNS to run servers.
I use a cron job to update my dynamic DNS every hour. How would this affect that?
What if someone placed an ad over the Atlantic Ocean in geo-synch orbit? International waters and all, but it would STILL be visable from most of the US and Western Europe.
It's based on the wishes of Cuban-Americans. The people who fled Castro's reign of terror.
It's simple. The 2000 election would have been lost had Bush taken 1000 fewer Cuban-Americans in Florida.
When elections are that close, no one wants to piss off any one-issue voting block that is on their side.
Let's look back. 1992, Bush 41 lost because of the people who were pissed off about the first Gulf War. In 1994, the Democrats were swept out of congress by Gun Rights voters. 1996, Clinton kept his job because the economy was on fire. No one wants to take chances anymore. I can't say that I blame them.
Romero zombies didn't specifically crave brains. Romero zombies just wanted to eat people, viscera were just as desirable to them as arms and legs. They never said "Brains!", in fact Romero zombies never spoke. O'Bannon zombies are the ones that wanted "BRAINS!"
So those who disapprove of the Parties' lock on national politics are neatly disenfranchised, and that's just "too bad" in your book?
Their decision to abstain does not equate to disenfranchisement. It's a conscious decision to remain on the outside. If they don't like the way things are working, they can start their own party. That what the Greens, Libertarians and Reformers did.
Currently, I have 3 WinXP desktops(two using wireless), a WinXP Laptop(using wireless), two Mandrake Linux machines(one a Duron 700 and the other a G3 PPC, one Mac OS 8.1 machine. I recently bought a Sun Ray 1 thin client and have been looking for a use for it. I also have several older machines that I have no current use for.
As someone who used to work for that company, I'd be willing to bet that the DVR will simply refuse to work if unblessed software is loaded.
The original DishPlayers *COULD* be upgraded with much larger hard drives than they originally came with. The company found out that people were doing this and updated the software so that the units would refuse to run if a hard drive larger than the original was in place.
They said that it was about compatibility issues, I suspect that it was because they wanted to force people to buy the newer, more expensive DVRs.
If you don't like the choices that are put up by the parties, write someone in. Write yourself in.
The statement made by going to the polls and voting can not be ignored.
So is it that we didn't vote or that we arn't proactive in the workings of our government?
Voting is central. When you write a letter to a legislator, if you were to open it with "I don't vote, but I think..." the rest of your letter will be ignored.
This is all possible because of the people who do not vote. The few of us who do vote mean so much, that legislators need as much money as possible to woo us. Campaign contributions buy influence. The best way to counter this is for people to get out and vote.
To play devil's advocate to you in return, if the commercials are included with the download, where's the harm?
The advertisers win, because they get additional viewers of their content. The networks win, because advertisers will be willing to pay higher rates because of the knowledge that even more people will see their ads.
Legally, you are correct. Ethically, I disagree. This isn't like bootlegging DVDs. TV Content is broadcast for free. I fail to see the harm in people downloading something that was broadcast for free anyway.

Good feminists get abortions? The world would be a better place if their mother's had.
1) if Mr. X says "Vote for me and I'll stand for Y,Z and A", it doesn't matter who suggested to him that he stand for those things, the fact is that the voters knew in advance that he would and voted for him based on that.
2) many of those expensive things will be bought from retailers IN the US and there will be taxable revenue because of the transaction.
3)19% of federal spending is for the military. 21%is for social security.

I was expecting VII-IX to be made ever since I heard about Episode I getting the greenlight.
When I saw how horrible Episode I was, I was positive that VII-IX would be made.
Episode I showed that Lucas was concerned with $$$ more than art.

If I were assigned a new IP address more often, I would run the script more often.
As things stand now, I go several months on an IP.

The vote came after testimony from people including a Florida woman who had her infant die after being unable to call 911 from her internet phone.
Doesn't she have a local police/ambulance/fire telephone number or neighbors who CAN dial 911?
That story just sounds fishy to me. Her baby died because she didn't know what to do in an emergency.

There are a few of different kinds of comments one could make.
1. One could liken the "Free as in Beer" aspect of GNU & Linux to communism.
or
2. One could say that communism is such a failure that in the end they can only afford things that are "Free as in Beer".
and let's not forget
3. One could remind us that under a communist government, there is no such thing as "Free as in speech".
While 1 is the least accurate, it's probably the one that the trolls will most often harp on.

If I was visited by the SPA, I'd laught at them and tell them to leave.

In many states, the only way to vote in a primary is to join a Party.
Well, yeah. Why should you get to choose a party's candidate if you're not a member of that party?
That would be akin to management choosing who gets to run for union president.
