This is exactly the kind of thing tax raisers refuse to understand. When taxes are too high, people will change the way they do business. It's perfectly legal to do this.
The term "Tax Dodger" is thrown around like it's a bad thing, it's not. It's smart to dodge taxes. In fact, many people do it. We use online retailers to avoid state sales tax. People who live near state lines will drive to the other state to make big purchases if there is a sales tax savings to be realized. I have cousin who travels from MD to DE to do just that.
If they make the tax too burdensome, we can watch Microsoft pick up and move from Washington to some other state that's not so arrogant as to assume that all money is theirs.
I am really curious if it thinks I'm gay (does it consider bisexuality?).
I'm sorry if this seems assholish, but does it really matter if your bisexual or gay? The people who would hate you for being one would hate you for being the other.
If I had enough money that I didn't need to work, I'd spend my time working on my oft and long delayed AI project. My goal would be to create a benevolent AI so that humanity has a fighting chance against SkyNET.
OK, that last part was a lame joke but that's exactly what I'd do.
Pyrolysis isn't anything new. In fact it's been known for quite some time. Whenever you heat something rich in hydrocarbons in the absence of oxygen, you release those hydrocarbons. It's the same process that turns coal into coke and tar.
Back to my original point, keep this quiet or the Democrats will find a way to tax it.
This is very important, because if Ford* needs to release the information needed to repair the Focus* to the state of Massachusetts, they will basically make it available everywhere in the world where Ford sells this car.
Not necessarily. California imposed strict emissions controls in the 80s and car makers made "California legal" versions of come of their models with additional pollution controls, lower horsepower and worse gas mileage. There's not reason why they couldn't release Massachusetts versions to comply with this law and sell the rest of the country the regular one.
I was always impressed with the performance of BeOS on the PowerPC. I installed the preview release on a 6400/200. It was like a whole new machine. I used to think that if Apple turned NeXT's OS into something usable in just a few years, they could have done something really special with BeOS. It's a shame that we'll never find out.
Yes, like homosexuals, like he did in the apology in TFA that you probably haven't read.
I was speaking about the Jewish people that they refused to take in from the rest of Europe who ended up incinerated. I was speaking about the Africans that were enslaved while England turned a blind eye in some cases and participated in others.. I was speaking about the Native Americans and the holocaust that they endured in part because of the British hunger for empire.
Though the statement made reference to one of those groups, it falls far short of the apology that they deserve as well.
This might be a first step, but the British government fucked over whole groups (and races) of people that deserve an apology at least as much as the venerated Mr. Turing.
I play devil's advocate, it doesn't have to be admissible in court for an investigator to follow it up.
For example "Bill told me that he hears Mike scream out that he was going to kill that bitch!" would be hearsay. But an investigator can go to Bill and ask him details about what he saw and heard. From there you can build a case (or a defense).
That stupid skank whore in New York got a court to force Google to give up the ID of someone who hurt her feelings and now everyone will use that precedent to do the same.
Back in the mid 1990s, I worked at Computer City all kinds of product manufacturers had programs to inform sales staff on the benefits of their products. In the late 1990s I worked at an Apple dealer, we sold Apple, IBM, HP and Compaq, but Apple had mandatory training programs in order for us to remain a dealer. We had to complete Apple training to keep our status as an Apple Authorized dealer/Service providor.
This will probably get me modded to hell by the FLOSSies
Sadly I believe this will NEVER ever be fixed, because its cause is rooting in those that treat Linux like a religion, rather than an Operating system, ala RMS.
You do know that RMS would call it "GNU/Linux", right? If you're going to slam the man, at least do so accurately.
I finish up my one year commitment fo Verizon this month. I'm looking forward to switching to cable. They call me no less than three times per week to offer me FIOS. Each and every time I ask "Will you give me FIOS for the same price that I'm paying for DSL?" Obviously, they won't. They start to rattle off all of the benefits and I explain "You called me, I didn't call you. If you want something from me, you'll have to make it worth my while." I enjoy telling them that I'm just riding out my DSL contract.
Surely if it was the case, the implications would be obvious; there wouldn't need to be a group of people repeating ad nauseum, as the FSF's fans around here do, I've noticed.
What we have is the equivalent of people thinking that food comes from the grocery store. We all understand that trucks bring the food from distributors and thoese distributors get the food from farmers or manufacturers. We don't need to explain this. Most people are ignorant about what goes on inside of their computers. They don't understand how the software that they use was produced. That's why it's necessary to remind them. Otherwise, we'll end up with a bunch of people thinking that food "comes from" the grocery store.
The GPL's (and FSF's) influence on the Linux user and development community is plain to see.
Yes, without them Linux would have been a one semester project for Linus. It was the GPL that gave all kinds of coders all around the world the incentive to work for free on it. Without the guarantee that they could benefit from their own work, they would have never done it.

So, what you're telling me is gay people suck...

All of those self righteous pricks in their Priuses can bend over and take it.

NeXT's OS was quite usable from when it first came out in 1988
Yeah, on 68K machines. It took a lot of work to bring it to PPC. I got my hands on a copy of Rhapsody DR1, it was quite primitive.
By 1996, when Apple considered buying BeOS and ended up buying NeXT, NeXT's OS had considerable penetration in key markets;
And those "key markets" didn't remain Apple's.

Funny thing is that Vista no longer uses 1394 adapters as network adapters.

I used the term "skank" intentionally, it has direct bearing on the case.
