We are not quite so "differentiated" as to be incapable of cross breeding those "ranks" nor are we such that two "fighters" couldn't produce a "leader", so it's a loose quasi-feudal system with democracy in place as best as possible. What a mess!

Well, in WoW, you could have gear from firebloodarms as a company and have a "magic mirror" that lets you send one to the "other realm". Since you would only see this as an option, it is something you could ignore and continue enjoying the game. Simple "Purchase for use in the other realm" as an option for any item that is available in the real world would be unobtrusive... you just have to think outside the box.

Yes, but who invented the VCR? The Tivo's pause, rewind, and fast forward features are simply a completely obvious feature. The ability to time shift was available (in a limited rudimentary way) with VCRs that had the ability to have their record functionality scheduled.

Honestly, the only "new" functionality in the Tivo was the "guide", and I'm not sure, but was Tivo really the first to offer a digital guide to channels?

From my point of view, everything about the Tivo was obvious and simply a migration from Tape and one recording channel to Hard Drive, two recording channels, and an electronic version of the TV Guide.

Nothing new here... why did they get a patent on this concept?

Yes they do, and this is coming from someone who firmly, firmly believes in "thou shalt not steal" - yet I feel like my life is being stolen from me daily by these people. My peace of mind, my quiet outdoors, my personal privacy, my everything. Now, to not "steal", I buy the product (DVD, Cable TV, etc.) and then do whatever it takes to get the content in an ad free manner. They already got my money, so I am not stealing when I pull the stuff from another server or medium (anymore than downloading the Super Mario Brothers ROM is stealing when I have the physical media sitting in the other room... I have a license to play that game.)

If the advertisers would get it together, perhaps they could figure out that we don't like ads, and perhaps they would realize that subtle product placement (and I repeat subtle ) does a better job of advertising than ads do (seeing a mac in use makes more sense, though the mac ads are great!).

Sorry... I'll stop my rant. I just am so disgusted by how far they have bent me, to the point of breaking my own moral code just to get them to get out of my way.

But if you look more closely at the original language, much of the book of Genesis is actually about a restoration of the earth after a cataclysmic flood that wiped out everything (often termed the Adamic flood by those that subscribe to this theory), followed by God restoring everything and then creating Adam and Eve.

The pre-adamic theory of creation is that we are descendants of this second humanity, and that previously there were other "people" (which matches fossil records of cro-magnum man, or whatever they are calling them now-a-days).

So, back to the original point - 6 days of God "letting" there be stuff (the word can be translated as "allow X to be its original form and purpose" or something similar, so "Let there be light" can also be translated as "Allow light to return to its original state" or similar.) This means that the earth existed for at least 6-7000 years, plus whatever is needed for all of the "nations of men" who existed prior (read the book of Dan, specifically about the King of Tyre) plus however long it would take for water covering the earth to kill everything.

Not all Christians are unable to believe that the earth is billions of years old and yet still believe in a literal interpretation of Scripture.

Please put the assumptions back on the shelf and remember that as in all things in this world, nothing is as simple as it appears - Except maybe 1+1=2 :-)

Oh, and I think it is pretty sweet to see an ocean forming. I've always found the idea of Pangea a really interesting concept, and likely to be true with the slow motions of the earth's crust. I hope someday (assuming I am right and heaven is real) to see this new ocean, and hope to see many of you there with me to marvel at the continued creation of our God.

I would like to point out that I think the top post (the AC Troll) does not speak for the vast majority of Christians. I think that his approach to speaking his mind is infantile and (if he/she really is a Christian) is detrimental to the entire Christian movement as a whole. It is akin to passing out tracts while yelling out that "everyone is going to hell!" - ineffective, overgeneralizing (therefore inaccurate), and outright insulting.

Most likely, XxtraLarGe is correct, that this person is not a Christian, but is, instead, someone who is trying very hard to damage everyone's perception of what Christians are like. I am a Christian. Do I appear to be unreasonable, inflammatory, or irrational? Please disregard the troll, and get to know some real Christians... many of us are really some nice people out to help the world be a better place by helping out in the community and loving our neighbors as best we can.

And, since this post really needs to stay on topic (sorry for the above rant), I hope that Apple sticks to their guns. I am a musician, and I feel that musicians should get their fair share, but I know as well as anyone that any increases are not going to make it down to the musicians. I truly hope that Apple sticks up for the pricing that was originally agreed upon to that the impulse buy nature of iTunes remains.
