Wouldn't it be ever so nice if they were to describe the actual hardware available for it?
Video Chipset - Does the "4 MB AGP" video also handle the Touch Screen Display (most posts seem to have not noticed it). If so or not, It'd be sweet if someone could port/write an Xserver for it.
Sound Chipset - Please be supported oh PLEASE be supported.
Nevertheless, it seems to me that by giving the "NO OS" option on the pricing page, they are partially supporting alternative OSes... If someone is kind enough to send me one of these babies, I'll be sure to test it out running linux:)

..but since when to are tanks, planes and warships unmanned? By seperating the actual controls from the computer/net, you could avoid this situation altoghether. I never heard of any possibly dangerous army toys that work unmanned. (correct me if I'm wrong..)
These "Army Officials" should start thinking closed-circuit computer aided human interfaces and quit thinking that everything can be controlled via remote-control....damned couch-potatoes...
first off, 500 years ago, it was an elite system, where who your father was kinda counted, and on top of that,, you ever hear of the Scientific Method?
Now this may sound a little off, but I think the best advancement (i know, i know, it's not a technology...) that has come upon us within the last century is that of High Education. The way evolution works is that we teach our young what we know. We have gotten to the point of evolution where we super-charge our young with all++ of our knowledge, thus allowing ourselves to become a more mature race in much less time. These young in turn created the most productful century known to man. I mean, c'mon people.. we've moved from coal heating to landing on the moon, sending crafts to Mars, partially mapping the human genome, toying with super computers, find the millionth gazzilionth digit of PI; None of this could ever have been accomplished under the old means of teaching our spawnlings..:)
I wish that when people write up stories as these, they'd actually explain what would be done about today's printing system. The print system used in linux does NOT suck, it's the same system that's been used for years without a problem. The fact that this article concentrates on SMB print sharing is a little off-topic I find, specially since there already exist the Common Unix Printing System. It already supports SMB, and although limited, the CUPS doesn't deserve to be one-uped by commercial entities that wish to simply create greater mind-share.
I'd wish HP and VA would stick their noses out of the All-in-one solution (print drivers/SMB) and concentrate on drivers themselves, like as one post already described, for certain things like duplex printing.
As a teen myself, I have been to these kinds of Science Compititions (Timmins, my hometown, hosted the Canadian wide science compitition for high-school students last year). I find it disgusting when some kids actually fool their way up to the top by actually using other people's innovations. I once seen this kid that used a 3d modeller in windows, and recreated his hometown, claiming it to be some sort of "Virtual Map", that's about it. Nothing new there, sure, it looks cool, and the judges will gawk and of course they win the prize, ech, disgraceful to the informed community at large.
Anyhow, I really like the fact that these kids actually took their time and interest to develop something that although may seem a little redundant, they actually learn something useful and bring some perticular incite to others.
It's all nice and facy to have a 600MHz laptop.. but where is this speed going? I figure someone should look into incorporating a cpu that may start up at 600, but once everything is loaded and the like, the CPU should be able to self throttle itself so that it would slow down the system to the point where heat/power is no longer a problem. Just think of it, how much speed do you actually need to 'type' and 'move the mouse' once the system is booted? 66MHz, 100Mhz? (prolly 66 to stay compatible with system devices..) If the machine were to all of a sudden get bogged down, then it would auto-speed up:) I think it'd be a marvel idea.

Can someone fix the MySQL problems? :) I'm anxious to see this!
In actuallity, Netscape only breaks on the new libXt.so, so you'd only need to copy that one file.
