Now that Java is open source, a whole new set of issues come into play. There are significant aspects of open source licensing that have yet to be decided in the courts. Those precedents may finally be set.

    PostgreSQL did not exist in 1993-1995. It was Postgres, and Postgres95 in that timeframe. It had its own query language. It was re-written to use SQL, and then became PostgreSQL.
