    There is enough accessible Thorium and Uranium to power our civilisation at current levels until the sun kills the earth.

    Care to back up that claim with solid data? because many experts would disagree with that assessment on uranium. and thorium reactors are still experimental.

    The better hobby printers already desktop Stratasys models in quality. I would imagine that enterprise quality printers are a lot less fiddly in their use though. (and a cartridge will cost ten times what a roll of ABS currently costs.)

    I think you'd first have to invent a compressible liquid. Most liquids are characterized by being barely compressible. even in high pressure hydraulics the liquid is only compressed by one or two percent.

    I guess you've never heard of an active placebo? Those have a definite pharmacological effect, just not the main effect of the drug being mimicked.

    Oh but you have to do it vertically as well as horizontally and you'll end up with a light field display. Needs a lot of resolution though, so maybe finally a valid use for 8K video displays in television.

    We're animals, so we do what animals do. Feed and procreate. It's our biological imperative. There is no shame in this. The Universe will keep on ticking along just fine. Thinking that we have to care for every creature that crosses our path implies that we are somehow superior. That we know best. It is an arrogance I don't subscribe to.

    I wonder how the "colonize the universe" crowd feels about that, what gives them the right to decide that a planet should now be full of people rather than leaving it be to evolve on its own.

    What gives us the right? Survival of the fittest. All life is created equal and that includes carbon based bipeds with spaceships. Add to that my personal conviction that undirected panspermia is a contributing force to the spread of life in the Universe and I see no objection to adding a little directed panspermia of our own in the mix.

    Worst suggestion ever.
    I tried it but then the RIAA sued my ass off. Apparently the noise that Pink makes is both qualified as music and copyrighted. I found her big fan very annoying as well.

    The whole point of a petition is that you clearly attach your identity to your position for all the world to see. if you're not willing to do that keep on cowering in anonymity, but nobody will listen.
    (Given that it's an online petition nobody will listen anyway but my point still stands.)

    I hate gun nuts as much as you, and yet I applaud what he is doing. We need more repositories for printable 3D objects on the Internet.

    In the US there is a tradition of unsavory characters you wouldn't leave alone with your dog defending your freedoms. People like Larry Flynt and RMS and this guy.
