I still buy CDs , but 18 bucks for 10 burnable tracks per month?! I wouldn't DRIVE to get 10 tracks for $18! someone will soon get pay/play system down in retail stores that might make the grade. The specs we're merely penciled in!?!$ Well...after calling the vendor (who gave me an RMA number), i got a little pissed. I mean who would want to give their customers a bogus part! I wound up talking to Corporate Investigations at AMD. They were OUTSTANDING. What they did was: 1) replace my processor after hearing about the bogus one. (they said it was a "test-fab unit" that should have never been released to the public..) 2) Contacted the vendor we purchased it from. 3) Offered the vendor to replace ALL their bogus cpus
with the real thing at no charge..IF they told AMD who was supplying to them. very nice if you ask me. Felt good too...ensuring that my customers and evyone elses got good solid product.

The growth of RealMedia utils under linux is very welcome, but just like any good company, i'm sure that Real has a game plan. What of their involvement in the DVD/DeCSS debacle. It just seems too weird to me. I'd hate to see this deal come back to bite Linux (as a whole) on the ass. I haven't heard one peep come out of Xing about their poor implementation of the CSS encryption. RealPlayer or DVD software....doesn't matter. It still comes out of the same camp. Comments? I've looked at many online resources to try to get a better grasp of what's issues are a stake for the present and the future. There are technical issues that the average joe(tm) doesn't want to understand. Give us MORE information on what we can do. We're pumped already! Post flyers. Talk about it at your LUG meetings . Inform the public.

Freedom of the press was intended to inform the people of the things that matter the most. Changes in their lives. If you are in ANY form of media, and you are reading this, ask yourself this. If you enjoy the thought of improving people lives by reporting the issues impartially and without prejudice, will you sit idly by as people who now control mainstream media outlets report the "news" that they think is important to hear for the best interests of business? Or do the people have a right to press and free speech that lets the public decide for itself what is the fact of the matter?

Mer|in: I wonder who owns "Court TV"?

This is very important. The media war is getting ugly.

Setup some Beowulf clusters to get the graphics going. Take the Average Joe into a black world where poeple live in the cracks between large corps. It could definately catch the action movie crowd.
