Whoever modded the above post down, he's speaking the truth. PKD's family trust has milked his works for years... yet another argument against extended copyright. (Although thinking about it, his work would probably still fall under copyright under older versions of the laws).
Please note that I didn't specify "man-made Climate Change", because I do believe that some doubt exists there. However most climate change deniers deny that it's happening at ALL.
but isn't PKD the author who has the most works that have been translated to the silver screen? I love hisa work and I'm glad to know that yet another of his novels/short stories/novellas is being translated.
I have one. How do we get the vested interests out of the media and the political arena so that a proper, unbiased and informed debate can occur under the gaze of the general public? Take the (corporate owned) media and the (may as well be corporate owned) political parties out of the equation, and there would be almost no dispute that climate change is happening.
*sarcasm*Glad to see such sympathy for people like one of my good friend's parents*/sarcasm*, who got talked into buying a ps3 by their son to use as a media centre. They're in their late 60's and haven't grown up with technology as a central focus of their lives. They're just lucky that they have a good support network in their kids to look after tech related matters, so they can get the benefit of the tech without the "downside" of having to learn something entirely unfamiliar to them in this late stage of their lives.
Someone please correct me if I have this wrong. I thought that as a public figure/celebrity in the US you effectively lose your right to avoid publicity? I would think that an astronaut would count as a public figure and thereby lose this right.
Really? Now consider that you are one of those power hungry leaders of the USSR. Imagine, if you will, that a John Wayne-like movie star who played cowboys and similar such characters got into power as the president of the US. Said cowboy then institutes programs which destabilize geo-political regions and starts brushfire wars and police actions all over the world. He also indicates that he would be willing to launch a pre-emptive strike...
Thanks for that info, the 30+30 rule was the one I was thinking of when I made my last post.

I'm not normally a fan of roto-scope, but this movie was such a faithful and well presented adaptation that it won me over.

Ok, maybe I should've specified MODERN author, and even then apparently Stephen King beats PKD.
In fact, to reply to my own post... I just found this list of PKD works that have been translated into films.

You're posting in the wrong thread, the thread you're looking for is here.
Any questions?

It's the end of days!
I've met Terry, at Swancon 18... I have to say that he is a very cool man. Even though I don't like his books, he's proven his geek-cred.
As a dyslexic, I completely agree!
It's not just the US/Canada that uses this "system".
That doesn't mean canada has lax free speech laws. That means Canada has a better system of protecting the rights of its citizens.
Actually, I would say that it means both.
Where does cowardice come into it? I'm trying to talk from the Soviet point of view. They firmly believed that Reagan would start WW3.
Reagan was a scary man.
But hasn't he molested OVER 9000! children?
Only one man would dare to give ME the rasberry! Lonestar!
