And, of course, if Windows file copy code had been used to write the orgasm prediction methods, it would be, "Oh, oh, I'm going to come in 2 minutes, Oh, Oh, I'm going to come in 10 seconds, Oh, Oh, I'm going to come in 3 hours...
(yes, stolen from xkcd)
If it takes you weeks to read 224 pages, I think you have bigger problems than smoking. 4-6 hours tops. And that's if you slow down to reread a chapter because you don't believe how simple it is. Heh.
If that shot cost $20, I'd be all over it, but my guess is we're talking several hundred dollars minimum. And it only has a 50% success rate - as opposed to 90% for easyway.
3.5 yrs since my last smoke. Worked well for me, and 4 friends who wanted to quit also stopped on reading it too, with one failure - so 83% success rate in my peer group.
When you win (the U.S. Presidency), you go into this smoky room with the 12 industrialist, capitalist scumfucks that got you in there, and this little screen comes down... and it's a shot of the JFK assassination from an angle you've never seen before, which looks suspiciously like the grassy knoll, and then the screen comes up and the lights go on, and they ask the new president "any questions?" – Bill Hicks
Doesn't matter - *you* run Opera, then send them to the URL of services you're running. I think this has a lot of potential.
It's hard to see how cool it will be when there are real apps for it, but it will get there.
As to all the whining about it being offline when you are - well, so is your IM client, and that's the realm that these apps will start falling into...
I don't know how to overcome the fear, but it *is* important to rationalize and notice the difference between perceived risk and actual risk.
In the scale of things, dying in a terrorist attack is miniscule in terms of risk. If we had another attack on the scale of 9/11, we'd be looking at 3,000 dead. In a population of 20,000,000 - that's a 0.15% chance of dying - *if* there's an attack.
On the other hand, there are 40,000 deaths from car crashes every year in the US - that's about 13 9/11 attacks EVERY YEAR (yes, I know, I'm not including attributable deaths, but it's close).
But are you scared of driving? If not, why not?
It's funny how our brains work, isn't it...
I enjoyed Reloaded more - but that only works as a whole if you disregard the hack job that was Revolutions. After the second film, the possibilities were exciting. Until Revolutions came along and the plot dissolved into a shoot 'em up.
Then they would tell me that English isn't their first language and I would use a different approach. ffs, it's an *example* of making people think, not the 100% foolproof method.
Forgive my naivety here, but surely there's a difference. Capchas tend to follow a consistent setup, making a logical approach possible.
Obviously my approach above isn't something that would be difficult to break on its own, but it's an example of making the person on the other end actually *think*. Depending on the reply I might ask what the sum of the number of words in the next sentence I type is plus the number of vowels.
Can you see how this suggests thinking?
(18 btw)
As to people in other replies who say the speaker may not have English as their first language, I always thought the point of these tests was to test an English speaker? Obviously it's a moot point if otherwise. All the "alice" bots (etc) I've communicated with have written in English, so it's not an unfair assumption to make.

That's 75x and 30x respectively - not 7.5 and 3. Your decimal point is off there.
I might be in the minority, but I've learned to love the challenge of taming a beast of a code base.
Coming in and helping out people who don't have *anything* in place and slowly adding order has a satisfaction level all of its own.
Building out a test suite as we document business logic and then planning a refactoring can be rewarding too!
Try the Guardian Weekly - 3 bucks a copy and about 95% news. Real News.
Hehe - I remember lenslok - I had a friend who got to the point where he could read them without the lens though - that was talent :)
And gives better head, yes?

I stopped through it, and so have millions of others. And for less than $20. Screw vaccines. http://www.amazon.com/Easy-Way-Stop-Smoking-Non-Smokers/dp/1402718616/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258756811&sr=8-1 Best approach I've ever seen to deconstructing smoking addiction.
The resolution is what? 1/6 of Blu Ray HD. What point could there possibly be to releasing any legacy TV on Blu Ray?
Have you learned how to salt and hash passwords since then? ;-)

I think they already do and that the technical term is "blue rinse".
I have no mod points right now, but hopefully you'll get modded up - great insights - thanks
Yeah, it's so much easier to type VisualEditor filename - vi is so hard to remember! QuoteWords makes so much more sense than qw! I see the light now.
"about 30 degrees to either the right or left side of an exit door" ??? Vertically, diagonally? That phrase makes zero sense...
dild0?
Assuming Opera approves your app - they aren't letting stuff get added to Unite without their approval. All in all, it's pretty well thought out.

It was in KDE 3 - KDE's had it since 2006 - ALT + Space launches Katapult
Well done. ANd you Know that i havE no otheR similar tests!
