Its because no one can agree on anything. Everyone thinks they can do it better and proceed to try. The most promising design so far has been BeOS. A fast multimedia ready OS for the desktop with the multiuser shit stripped out. I don't need a unix timesharing system to listen to mp3s and use netscape.

Why on earth why would you want a linux kernel in BSD userland? Do you really want a horribly broken VM system and every yahoo who can type hello world submitting patches? Thats why I like BSD. Theres a core group in charge of what goes and what stays. Who has the final say so in the linux kernel?

Honestly, going into any small/mid sized business how many unix boxes are you going to see? None. All windows. Prepare them for the real world where windows is 90% of the desktop market.

3. I just did a search for "The Descendents" and got hundreds of replies back.

I bought a used compaq pII 300 with a 4gb scsi drive. On arrival the drive made the familiar *kerchunk click click click* noise. They issued me an RMA and told me to send the drive back. They couldn't find a replacement so they credited me for the cost of the whole computer, $129. So I bought a new 40gb maxtor and umax scanner with the credit. I guess you could call that good.
More government bullshit telling me how to code by own software. Hey this isn't europe you know. In a free market people will see these shoddy insecure products and not buy them.
