  1. Size on 3G Cel Service Starts in Japan · · Score: 0

How many cell phone towers would you need for a country the size of germany or france? Now how many will you need for the US? Its the amount of infrastructure thats required to support all this.

  2. older PCs on Music Industry Forcing WMA standard? · · Score: -1

Like how old 486? Those can barely play 128k mp3s without skipping don't even try it on a 50mhz dx2 with the disabled fpu. Any box thats running win95 can play wma's, thats like 90% of the market share and a vast majority. They aren't going to care about a small group of hippies that complain.

  3. big names behind it on Music Industry Forcing WMA standard? · · Score: -1

Because the bosses don't like the idea of an open group of people working on some format, they want it backed by a major company like MS. Whats so proprietary about WMA anyhow? Hell early versions of winamp played it just fine (2.5 was the last ver).

  4. try 0 on Where is Largest Linux Desktop Install? · · Score: -1

My firewall runs OpenBSD, my laptop runs NetBSD and my Alpha runs FreeBSD. 100% linux fundie free and proud of it. Oh yeah my main desktop runs win2k 100% of the time and doesn't crash. I can install software without worrying about failed compiles or trying to upgrade libf00 without breaking app blahblah just to app doh can run.

  5. thats because on Industry Divided Over SSSCA · · Score: -1

Everyone talks big here about writing this person and contacting so and so but when it really came down to making a statement only a handful of messages were received. Theres a big difference between saying and actually doing.

look at the result, our crime rates drop and theirs go up. I feel much safer, thank you.

  8. this is like on PCMCIA Audio Support In NetBSD · · Score: 0, Interesting

How NetBSD had full USB support a year before linux. Maybe thats why my thinkpad runs NetBSD/win2k and not linux.

  9. fuck europe on Free Speech, Porn And Internet Controls · · Score: -1

I can't stand you liberal socialist left wingers. Look at your street crime rates. Its impossible to walk down the street without being mugged or assaulted. Don't even think of trying to keep a nice stereo in your car, it will quickly be stolen. I have family members that live in the UK so what I'm saying is BS. Hey I know the solution! Lets have more cameras to watch people. That will surely stop crime. Next time some whacko goes on a killing spree we can ship him over to europe. Will you take him in?

I'd like to emulate china. Take the prisoner out and shoot him in the back of the head then give the bullet to his family.

  10. too bad on Free Speech, Porn And Internet Controls · · Score: -1

Big deal a retard kills someone, does that make it ok? Look at the crime rates in these mentioned countries. Hardly any. I applaud china for its many executions and rejoice every time someone is put to death. On second thought I'd like a law that lets the family(s) of the victims pick a punishment for the murderer.

They teach you this stuff so you can interact and communicate with people other than techies. You need skills like bullshitting with joe sixpack about random topics. Not everyone shares your same mindset. History is an important subject, it keeps you from repeating past mistakes and you might learn something interesting!

  15. oh please on How Many Domains Does Your School Own? · · Score: -1

Anytime I see a post that mentions 1984 or Orwell I stop reading. Its usually some conspiracy whacko wearing an aluminum foil hat. The school is just trying to cover its ass legally. How about you hear BOTH sides of the dispute before making an opinion, or is the underdog always right? What if someone made a page that claimed one of the teachers was a child molester? That could certainly damage a persons career and open the door for lawsuits.

I can't stand those motherfuckers. Ever since that song you're never there I've wanted to kill them. It takes 4 or 5 people to make that? I would go to one of their concerts just to throw garbage at them.

  20. they are superior on CD Copy Protection Head Speaks · · Score: -1

with records the sound is directly played back via analog. when you listen to a cd you're hearing music thats been encoded and decoded back with loss. anytime something is converted to digital you get loss, theres no way around it.

  21. greed on Bid to Tax Satellites Rejected · · Score: -1

They found another potential victim to extort money from. Watch in a few months there will be another proposel to tax something new. If you walked out of work and a group of thugs stole half your pay its called robbery. If the government does that its called taxation.

  24. design on Tiger MP Dual-Processor Motherboard · · Score: -1

It just shows the difference in quality. Intel obviously made a more stable cpu with a safety precaution that works. Now AMD looks like its cutting corners just to get the product out the door. Personally I wouldn't buy a cpu that catches fire in under a second.
