    If you go the hex core route, look for X5650 boxes. You'll find thousands for sale. I bought a Lenovo earlier this year with that CPU and 24Gb of ram for $300. The W3680 Xeons are a bit faster but not nearly as numerous.

    Some phones come with malware installed from the factory. Especially the cheap Chinese models.

  10. I needed a new phone and these Lumia models were dirt cheap. What stopped me was the ability to block ads either via browser or hosts file. I ended up buying an Android phone from Leagoo.

    These days if you pick up a strong shortwave signal in the US its either Radio Jesus or a Mexican Border blaster. It's amazing to watch the shortwave spectrum on a $15 SDR dongle (with the $40 upconverter).

  16. Interesting link. My Lenovo box has the an X58 motherboard but I don't think the stock bios will allow for much tweaking. This was still a huge speed boost from my old Q6600 box.

  17. You can pick up hex core boxes dirt cheap on eBay now. Look for the X5650 or W3680 Xeon boxes.

    I ran Palemoon for a while but it was still slow compared to Chrome. There is a reason Firefox is tanking and Chrome is growing. The product is simply better.

    Just because you can have 100 open tabs doesn't make it practical. You can only read one book at a time. What is the point of having that many? By the time you hit tab 73 you have no idea what tab 22 was about.
