From what I understand, elevon and spoiler configurations aren't bad to operate. The elevon is a combined input of the stick, and the spoilers operate as the rudder.
Spoilers are control surfaces on the wing that destroy lift. They "spoil" it. They are used on sail-planes because they can steepen the very flat glide of the aircraft, which makes landings much easier. On full-size aircraft, spoilers are also used to kill lift on landing to make sure the airplane is firmly on the ground. They also add a lot of drag to help with aerodynamic braking.
You don't use a spoiler to fly the plane.
It is possible to fly a delta wing (quite) stably without a rear "shark-fin" most of the time by using only the wing controls.
Actually a delta wing isn't stable without the vertical and horizontal stabilizer. They need these components as the fuselage and wing assembly is so drastically different than a flying wing.
There have been instances of pilots 'landing' delta wings that had damage to the rear stabilizers, but these were little more than controlled crashes.
Since Apple is a publicly traded company this is information that definately should be public. Withholding that kind of information could be construed as Anti-Trust when/if it's used to try to keep stock prices from fluctuating.
Mexico has better national health insurance than Canada or GB or anywhere in Europe, GO FIGURE!
I think some citation may be needed here. France is in Europe, and provides pay for lost time to illness. The government pays half of what is lost and the employer pays the other half. It's also not a severly capped pay schedule either, in Canada you rely on your benefits or Employment Insurance - which is not much of a help. I just don't know what this costs the French government.
I can curl up in my easy chair with my dog(thank god he's a small dog) and a good book. It's incredibly awkward to do the same with a laptop. I do realize that smaller and probably far less awkward technology exists for reading e-books, but why would I purchase some piece of tech to do what the books I already own do. True, I could always just use it for new books, but I wouldn't. To be honest I prefer the way that an actual book feels in my hands.
People talk about reading books online or on a computer and I just don't get it, probably a lot like Mr. Bradbury. I'm not slamming the alternatives and most people would know that just from reading what I have taken the time to write here, but on Slashdot there are some really dim people, so I'm stating this for them:)
I am curious as to why Mr. Bradbury is being ridiculed for his opinion though. Some of the opinions that I see on/. are far more ridiculous....
TorrentSpy owner Justin Bunnel sued them for spying, but however lost the case due to a ruling that stated it was not illegal since the information was not intercepted under the Wiretap Act.
Since when does something have to be illegal for a lawsuit?
It can also be described as hydraulic creep. It's basically a really slow shifting of hydraulic fluid, usually from the ram back into the fluid reservoir. Over a period of about four hours of sitting idle the boom of the crane settled until it reached its tipping point, then gravity took over.

What's disturbing about a picture of a crane on the ground?
Some people are sensitive to that. I worked with one fellow that had nightmares from seeing those pictures.

Yes, but the N1M also had vertical stabilizers where the propeller shafts exited the TE, and rudders on the wingtips for stability.
Is the B-2 supersonic?
No, the B-2 is capable of high subsonic speeds. I did find a really cool photo of a B-2 at high subsonic speed with a water vapor phenomena.
I wasn't aware of that, but it's easy to see why they added them.
The YB-49 also had vertical stabilizers along it's TE(trailing edge).

I can't imagine what would change their minds.
I threatened to send the negatives to the newspapers :)
Wait another week, I'm taking my parka out of storage soon...
Yes, but it would suck, it would also be damned hard to control the pitch without elevators.
That would have been one damned busy pilot.
The production version of the Ho-229 was designed to have four 30mm-MK-108 cannons and could carry two 500-kilogram bombs.
Just remind them of the Type 212 Submarine.
How would they actually achieve stable flight though?
Current technology requires computers to keep designs like this stable in the air.
If SCO need money badly enough I have a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need washing, and laundry that needs folding.
I think you mean HIPAA, and it has nothing to do with SEC.

Cory Doctorow is Canadian.
Yes, and we're not proud of that either...
Why would someone waste mod points on a comment by an AC?

This is an older model, but they have some pretty fancy new ones too.
However I find it to be the easiest way to get Windows 100% secure.
WAY FUCKING COOL !!!

It's about time nerds got cool
I think it's really fitting.
Because just like Colbert the treadmill goes on and on and on and on and on and on......
