The problem I have with paper is the distracting animation when I flip the page. Or when the wind flips the page... or when doing anything, really. Very annoying indeed.
Personnaly I like the Esperanto sounding. But it's subjective. You can say Enlish sounds like if the speaker has burned his mouth of Dutch sounds like if he has no teeth... And I don't know how sounds French for a foreign language speaker!
Why do people keep pushing English, it's a terrible language. Why do people keep pushing French, it's a terrible language. Why do people keep pushing Spanish, it's a terrible language. etc...
yes, I'm a french-speaking man and after years of studying english I can't say you exactly what I want in english. I don't think i'm offtopic, when half the scientific publications will be in chineese only, it will be difficult to stay on the same scientific level than China.
And there s two main factors explaining curent USA predominance: english and dollar. If one of them disapears, the fall will be hard...
I think it's now time to begin to publish in Esperanto.
By now Americans and Brittish are advantaged because all the publications are in English. And all the scientists in the world have to learn this difficult language to stay behind and understand what happens.
But will the chineese always publish their results in English? If they learn English and publish in chineese, they will always be in the first place, but if the scientific community begin to publish in Esperanto now, maybe it's not too late...
But I don't think thiw will happens, and for us non-english speaking people, a new difficult language will replace the current.
Chrome is in beta state (maybe for the next 10 years?). I use firefox 3.1 whiwh is in beta state and seems very speedy also.
If you compare browsers, compare the betas in one side, ant the stables in other side. What you can see is that IE stable release sucks, others ares equivalents. Chrome is'nt stable thus it does'nt exists. Show me the same with the betas and we will see the fastest next-gen browser
But USA is not the world. Another type of internet will appear soon of late, and "THE" government will will not be capable to decide anything about it...
It sounds to be very cool! Thus in other words I made a good choice by acquiring a mp3 player that respects standards and offers a full choice for sound files format, and I'm punished!
There is no need for this player to add ogg support or standard usb connection. RockBox will never be ported to the meizu.
People who buy a full closed apple(c)(tm)(r) with non standard transfer protocol, only some closed files formats supported can install rockbox and have an access to all the cool stuffs that it provides!
I have a meizu m6, and there is no need to change the firmware, it plays all types of music (including OGG Vorbis), it's ergonomic and I don't need the video player, but it looks fine.
I think it's better to buy a good player than buy a bad one and try to hack it after...
What about Ubuntu prior to 8.04? In december there will be no more security updates from mozilla, thus security updates from canonical can be applied, but the browser cannot be named "firefox". I suppose they will do a security update for "firefox" that will change its name to "iceweasel"... Debian knows The Truth. Debian IS The Truth.
It seems very strange to me. I'm happy to discover your culture. It is a pitty that my english is too poor to question you a little bit more, while it is good enough to understand your response.
By reading more and more news (and comment) on slashdot I discover things I've never suspected before.
Thus are you really like in these movies from hollywood? I thought that Americans in the real life made the difference between the government and the country.
I do not identify my country with my govt (I live in Belgium and I hope you'll never confuse these clowns with my country) and I think it's the same in a lot of countries in the world.
Now let's see the situation. Is the Chineese govt more restrictive on (digital) rights, or are our gvts more efficient to hide us the truth?

Here in Belgium, i bought a book for 9€, and i saw it in epub format for 16€, with DRM...
One is cheaper and i can give it to my mother, another is expensive and is limited to one e-reader. Which of them do you choose?
I live in belgium and all files in the governement website are in pdf and doc...

What if MDY sells its code to an european company?
