  1. Microsoft Loses Taco! on Microsoft Loses Delay Appeal · · Score: 1

    hahaha.
As I was reading the page I was scrolling and my eyes played tricks on me and I read the title as: Microsoft Loses Taco since CmdrTaco's name is right next to it.

Got a good laugh. It would be a funny story.

  2. Maybe I'm mis-informed on Florida County Asks Students To Crack Elections · · Score: 2

Not that I disagree with you, but do you have anything documented that shows information about counties that had lines all day and not everyone got to vote? If this is the case, then you're right, they need to add more voting polls as every deserves a fair single oppourtunity to vote, but so far I haven't heard of any documented cases of this actually happening. I've heard of areas where the polls flooded later in the day but nothing all day long.

A green light appears on the desk of the silly little election monitor guys table. He waits for that person to leave and allows the next person to enter the booth and hits a button to accept the next poll after the person has been verified. Any person without proper ID or if they don't make it within the voting time period does not get to vote. They can go cry a river somewhere.

If you're using a duron for something that could be processed on a 486 then they had better release seti for the embedded device or that's a lot of wasted processing power... Oh wait, even with Seti it's a lot of wasted processing power.

If linux ever is to become main stream on the PC for average joe user, we really need to step up the help for newbies. Education is the solution to ignorance.

Don't believe me? Load up www.Bridge.com in Netscape 4.72, no problems... Load it up in 6+... Oops!

We spent a whole lot of manpower trying to keep it compatible with 4 to 4.72 and every single freaking release changed the specs and things broke. Granted we were taxing dhtml to the maximum capability it still should have worked fine and it does in NS4.72 and IE4+. Opera still has some problems but I'm working with their developers on fixing them.

I highly recommend Savvis. They have some products that are more expensive but have superior quality and their network delay guarantees are the fastest in the world.

They have awesome uptime guarantees also. You dial the tech support number and you get a live person who usually isn't a tech support clown and actually has some knowledge about what is going on in this world.

I ended up going with a T1 from them. Had local loop fees from swbell been cheaper ($550) it would have been the cheapest T1 in existence ($995 full T1)

Disclaimer: Yes, I am a stockholder (ouch!), yes I am affiliated with the company as a customer, plus I used to work for Bridge before I went out on my own doing web development and hosting. However, in my honest opinion, I still think they have a superior service and pricing for what you get.

Is no one managing these companies? Instead of slowly going out of business, why don't they budget and create a plan that will put them in the green?

To me it's simple, if you're not making enough at $40/customer to pay your employees and cover all the rest of the expenses, get rid of worthless employees and raise your prices to a profitable rate.

I've upgraded to T1 but it costs a bundle! Had I not been forced to upgrade, I certainly would have kept using SDSL.
