These laws must be rebalanced in order to allow dissemination of culture across country borders. Diversity enriches the whole community, whereas those laws are made to enrich just a few.

I have a friend serving seven years for protecting his family from a drunk insane Maori in his home. In a lot of US states where self defense is a given he would be lauded as a hero. Instead, he was forced to use a knife to defend his small children from a man who outweighed him by at least 150lbs and stood a good 8 inches taller but because his use of a knife against an unarmed man wasn't proportional he's in gaol.
