What gets me is that Labour still keep chanting "Beware the Conservatives, they're the bogeyman. Evil.
Sleight of hand. They distract you with something silly and then slip the bastardry by with not a squeak of protest. The MSM colludes in this trick all the time.
He is probably talking about the rgbh story FOX wouldn't run as it was detrimental to their advertisers/monsanto. The reporters lost their jobs as they refused to lie and took FOX to court. The court actually stated that FOX News had no obligation to tell the truth as they were basically an entertainment service(paraphrased from memory so pedants go away) If you google around you will find it. I would find you a link but my Internet is being 'shaped' at the moment and I am getting around 14.4 modem speeds (if im lucky)
Your ability to chime in with stupid, useless, and patently false comments is immortalised here. The fact you were modded up just shows that you paid for the Vaseline.
I was browsing the net a couple of years ago and all of a sudden I got tons of pop up windows full of really vile images( i was running a pop up manager but they were obviously using some new-fangled method to deliver their product). After closing them all I then got the final pop up which was an ad for Evidence Eliminator (or some similar product) with the full spiel about how you can go to gaol for possession of images in your browser's cache and other really scary stuff. So when I hear about someone busted for CP claiming that a virus did it I may be suspicious about their excuse but as I have been on the receiving end I do not dismiss their claims outright as just another stupid excuse. If you are wondering how I made my HDD legal again. I smashed it to pieces that night (it was due to be upgraded anyway - evidence eliminated!)
then quite frankly that's YOUR problem. It shouldn't become the problem of a company that develops something specifically for a medium that REQUIRES you to be able to see. You don't like common sense yet? wait till it pushes the price of your game up and the quality of the build down. Some people will think I am being too harsh here but these sorts of things are being taken to ridiculous extremes. Maybe we need a version of pong that uses sound to indicate bat and ball positioning? That's just stupid. Can deaf people sue the makers of MP3 players because they can't appreciate the music? Maybe we could create an MP3 player that converts the bass to a rhythmic tap on the forehead. I am all for installing ramps for people in wheelchairs and signs in braille but let's have some sensible limits. Should fat people who go shopping in their electric scooters get special preferences? or should they just put down that piece of chocolate fscking cake and get a sense of perspective. All these minority special interest groups are going to end up screwing everything up for the majority sooner or later. I personally can't wait to get my copy of Guitar Hero Nose! What makes this post even sicker is the fact that somewhere I have probably committed a hate crime - the world is going fscking crazy.
Couldn't the player client just have a like/dislike button or a rating system like hot or not that takes into account the users preferences and how those preferences relate to others and the way they rank stuff. It can't be too hard can it?
i have an old pdp-11/23 in the garage with a couple of vt-100s. I switch it on every now and then and it still works fine. these machines were considered to be becoming obsolete and replaceable in the 1970's. The only problem it ever had was a MUX that went insane. easy fixed and still runs like a dream.
Did it involve disconnecting the other lights and wiring the green light straight up to the power source?;)
You actually raise a very good point. A lot of the modern breed of 'hackers'(in this context very, very loosely used) would be wondering what trojan they needed to install before they could do their uber-hack. I can just imagine little timmy trying to work out how to make the CD tray pop out and wow his friends.
I wonder just how hard it would be to find a pre-rolled PDP-ll trojan on google?
1970s traffic control is most likely RT-11 on a PDP variant. I could fix it but I want a lot of money as I suspect there aren't too many people left that know the arcane rites required.
This was a blatantly obvious showstopper bug that requires literally a minute or two to fix..
It might have taken you a minute or two to fix! I can assure you that the average Linux newbie sent to KUbuntu from a Windows environment (after being told that it's the way to go) would take a lot longer than that to sort it out. That sort of 'showstopper bug' is the sort of thing that makes the tentative newbie go back to Windows and forget about Linux altogether. I have always recommended newbies to Mandriva and they have always been happy so that is what I will continue to do,.
Just get Mandriva 2010 it really is very professional and well polished. The help channels on IRC at irc.freenode.net are without doubt the most helpful place on the planet. And for that stuff you just have to have that only runs in windows there is a good chance it will run in virtualbox. I run 3d max pro 9 on virtualbox in seamless mode and it works absolutely beautifully. Linux really is getting up to that out of the box standard that a lot of people can just use it without having to stuff around.
I have run 2010 since RC1 and now have the official release it truly is Mandriva's best release to date. I have also tried many distributions but I always came back to Mandrake/Mandriva because for me it has always just worked(and worked well).:)
Before getting anything like Gentoo try a 'proper release' so as you have a chance to at least try using Linux before you have learnt to hate it.

No user should ever be more skilled than any other users, and all distributions should cater to the newbie crowd.
There is a prize for the highest prime so I had better check to see if there is one for the very Lowest Common Denominator.
Grammar Nazi's -->: There are 14 serious errors in the above sentence. See if you can find them all! Win the approval of your friends on Facebook.
did we share a gaol cell?
That's thoroughly nuts, and I'm surprised that anybody on slashdot is promoting such a view.
But you aren't new here?
And ad hominem makes you look like a politician.
And I thought it was just a gender issue
Be very very careful. Environmental nut jobs on soapboxes can be very dangerous (or at the least stupid).

Why don't we just try to play nice.

Are you using one of those stone tablet PCs?

Bootstrapping a Gentoo install will teach you more about how operating systems and computer hardware work than any class you'll take at university.
PERSONALLY i PREFER TO MASTURBATE IN BED

That root account business in Ubuntu is so dumb. i am amazed they are still doing it.
I am totally amazed you can even use /.

Replay the same actions twice and you won't necessarily get the same outcome.
I once owned a cat that would have disagreed with you quite vehemently.
That's easy mate you blame the jews
strange sort of 'feature'
