    I think my hot end for my printer cost a little more than $50, but I love it and it is better than the design before it. I am surprised this would only cost $50 unless they are cutting corners or really working the economies of scale. You shouldn't even respond to the people comparing it to a glue gun. They simply don't understand what it going on. Hopefully this creates more demand for filament and improves the economy of scale for the people that are ordering the manufacturing of the filament so its cheaper for everyone.

    You should also mention that Monsanto makes round up. The round up ready was a way for them to sell more pesticide. They are making money from all farmers.

    I am sorry, but what are you talking about. The conservative sphere promotes limitation on abortion and drugs(there is more these are examples). If the freedom of the individual was valued they wouldn't try to limit the use of these. The fact is that in US politics left and right don't really exist. They are marginally left and right of center. The differences are exaggerated to motivate people to vote consistently along party lines.

    Did you know there is an acceptable limit on the amount of bugs in chocolate? This is what happens when you distance yourself from the producer. Best case you should know who grows your food. It makes them responsible.

    Then why did corn prices jump after ethanol was mandated in fuel? I realize in poor countries it is distribution that is the problem, but it still affects food prices here.

    The oil industry loves ethanol. You pay for gas by volume not energy content so less energy content means more fill ups. I don't think you understand.

    And yes gas is a non-polar solvent. My point is that older vehicles are not designed with ethanol in the fuel mix.

    I guess my information was dated on that one, so you are right. You are producing more energy than is consumed.

    Finally, I have no idea what the perfect fuel is. Gas and ethanol are decent fuels. I do know that mixing the two fuels was a bad idea.

    What? Ethanol is terrible for the engine since it pulls water out of the air plus it has less energy per unit of volume. So now your car needs more gas to go the same distance. And the water causes pitting on all the engine parts. Plus ethanol disintegrated the rubber hoses on an old motorcycle I have. And ethanol is a net energy loss so you don't make more energy than you consume manufacturing it. I have yet to see one benefit of ethanol in gas.

    There are a ton of products more valuable than gold. I don't understand why that is a big deal. Hopefully this makes honey cheaper with the extra source of income.

    HR was introduced to stop the development of unions and handle unions where they already existed. A pseudo management limbo if you will. Anything else they now have on their plate they fail at miserably. The biggest downfall is not understanding they should be an internal customer service oriented department like IT or facilities.

    Arguably British reparations could be blamed for world war two. They forced Germany into a place that enabled Hitler to come to power. That is probably the greater evil. Britain played the charlatan and Germany ends up the devil. I completely agree this guy needs to read a history book desperately. Plus the country really isn't that evil it is just very industrious. They accomplish to the best of their abilities what they put their sights on.

    I like firefox though. They tell you you are SOL without the passkey. I have no idea how Chrome encrypts. It looks like it is linked to your google account. Google could easily be holding all the keys.

    Nova Scotia(Canada) has a law that lobster can't be fed to prisoners. It was considered cruel and unusual punishment. Lobster used to be considered cheap meat. Always makes me laugh.

    There many instances of the doctor writing the individual off as almost dead when they live for years afterwards. Doctors currently can't predict how long you are going to live accurately enough to legitimize allowing them to give experimental treatment to people they think have a month to live.

    Wrong, California has no jurisdiction over the Chinese company period for sanctions unless the Chinese government enforces it, irregardless of how the transaction is occurring. The US government should be intercepting the dolls at customs if they shouldn't be sold in the state. Arguably, the onus should be on the purchaser for knowing what they are importing is violating the law.

    I know it is not your fault or the fault of /. in general. It should read tallest human structure. And it is probably that way only because it is underwater. The article says second largest considering the scale of construction for a singular project. Nothing about actual size.

    You don't really need AI. The drone could easily have circuit compass and just needs to keep a log of its flight path it could easily autopilot itself back to where it came from. If they were smart at lockheed you would really need to do more then jam the signal, unless that is how they get the US to buy more drones.

    The common cold is usually caused by the rhinovirus. There are about 99 different surface proteins it can have. It isn't immunity that I am discussing. The body would naturally attack the virus either way. The difference is that individual viruses that make the patient less sick enable easier transmission so they will be present in a larger quantity in society to the ones that make the person stay at home.

    I personally only right stuff that I am guaranteed to benefit from. Once I benefit from it, it is hard to argue that I wouldn't have done it in the first place if copyright did not exist. The only authors that have trouble are the ones that have been sold a song about how they can write a book and people will automatically buy it on its merits. Piracy has become the running cliche like lawyers. No one in jail is guilty it is just that their lawyer screwed them.

    I read a book a while back. Can't remember the name. Survival of the sickest or something like that. The author had an interesting argument that as we decrease the ease at which diseases are transmitted the more evolutionary pressure there is for them to not kill the host or make the host extremely ill. The common cold was his example as it doesn't make you sick enough that you feel like you shouldn't go into work so it gets transmitted.

    Your argument is built on a straw man. Read about Bhopal, India and the issues they have been having years from the event. All the chemical refineries we rely on should be torn down by your argument as they will fail and the consequences are dire and long lasting. Not to mention the easy damage to the water table if a "normal" power plant had a release of chemical stored on site. Or even a solar manufacturing plant. Care should be taken with any sophisticated chemical process irregardless of if it is Nuclear or not. There is no logical argument a Nuclear is any more dangerous than the less regulated ones.

    At&t is still pursuing through the DOJ. They are probably dropping the FCC application since it won't go through and they can wait until the DOJ review goes through. I think they are dropping FCC application so if the DOJ passes it they can argue that the FCC should follow suit and any of FCC's arguments would become weaker as the DOJ didn't have a problem. Wall Street Journal has a more informative article.     Make the buggers pick one and stick to it. The media should be having a field day with how often they flip backing and forth when it suits their need, but I suspect they are picking sides. Only once that has been defined can a real discussion about how media should be treated could possibly begin.

    I think there are two different meanings of bandwidth colliding. From the CBC article they are purchasing pipe size not data amount. I have seen both used for bandwidth.
