They're apparently working hard to make GNOME 3 work without hardware acceleration, so that's also a gripe you won't have any more soon enough.
Another big gripe I have read about, though, is that the source code is designed in such a way that it can hardly be optimized - it's slow by nature. I can sort of see that, running Gnome 3 from a 4-core i7 system.
Actually, I'm Dutch, and I know for a fact that Dutch peoples' grammar skills are simply poor, even in the native language. It's gotten to the point where some people need to be re-educated about proper spelling and grammar in college.
That makes it limited, not lossy. Save a file that was converted to 256 colors ten times more and the quality won't have degraded between the second and last save of that GIF file.
"Only" 5-10% can amount to a lot, though, especially for bigger websites. I'm sure Google itself would benefit a lot from this 5-10% as they have a ton of servers working overtime to serve pretty much every internet user out there.
Most of the installers that have this kind of click-through GPL can just be extracted as if it were a zip archive, thus completely circumventing the whole license accepting deal.
The "Accept" button in installers never makes sense, anyway. You automatically accept licenses once you start using the software, and for the GPL there isn't even anything to accept in the first place.

Just imagine being able to put the camera in any spot you like. Hell, walk around the movie first-person style. Explore the world, triggering the rest of the movie as you go along? Branching story paths? Triggerable easter eggs?
There's so much potential for this. Game and animated movie will start to blend even more, at high quality and at any desired resolution.
Personally, I find writing tags while typing out a HTML document just distracts me. If LaTeX doesn't have this problem I know I'd gladly give it a try.
Depends. Does the designer actually know what he's doing? Do other people acknowledge what he has done?
Because seriously. A designer will actually *think* about usability. And a good one won't think that changing it necessarily makes it better.
Grate. How about you fix all the other intentional grammer mistakes to?
Actually, thank Canonical for classic mode.
Actually, thank the complaining user base who wanted a classic mode for classic mode (I guess).
Will Windows 8 Be Ready For Release In 2012?
I dunno, don't ask me! I'm here to ask that, not have it asked to me.
Not writing your article title as a question already makes it ten times more informative.
I am highly confused because that statement didn't match what mjwx said in any shape or form.
I had some interest in the Vita. That interest is gone now.
Sigh.
Thanks to whatever manager thought this would be a good idea.
Same old tired argument. Come up with something more valid to argue between FF and Chrome.

That name somehow reminds me of Portal... Sigh.
Names like these fall into common use a lot more in the US than in many other countries, though, I find.
Just a side observation.
Usually it's because it failed to work properly for these people before, thus they feel the need to mention that now it does work properly for them.
Actually, I'm Dutch, and I know for a fact that Dutch peoples' grammar skills are simply poor, even in the native language. It's gotten to the point where some people need to be re-educated about proper spelling and grammar in college.
But would you use an image format that's obviously meant to be used on the web there?
That makes it limited, not lossy. Save a file that was converted to 256 colors ten times more and the quality won't have degraded between the second and last save of that GIF file.
You mean encoded data. PNG data is the encoded data, programs that can read or write them are the codecs.

That, and consider all the profile pictures on Google accounts, YouTube thumbnails and preview pics for videos, etc.
Probably because of its unique controls (for a Zelda game).
What, you mean like Minecraft itself? You sound as if you haven't actually ever heard of adventure mode.

That may very well be the problem! I mean, how good is Quicktime really on Windows? It's not.
