Yeah... I hate seeing anyone use a language with closures and prototype-based-objects for more than form validation and yellow backgrounds for results.

We should go back to static HTML pages and get it right this time!

Yeah.. I found it uncomfortable when it first came out. The first few rounds of tweaks fixed everything that really bothered me.

What I want now is for the autocomplete bar to auto-index every site I visit and offer me URL auto-complete based on the contents of the webpages I see. I always get that "I remember seeing something a few weeks ago that talked about Y, but I can't remember where"..

    Bloat is subjective.

I don't give a damn about "porn mode", but having quick command-line access to features is a lot more important to me.

As long as a significant number of users consider a feature to be usable (or if it draws in more users from outside), the feature should be considered useful.

That's why it's such a perfect analogy. Crime isn't binary - there are decent people that would take soap from a hotel room, but wouldn't consider stealing gum from a shop.

Society is better off if we don't prosecute crimes of low value or low impact, but rather leave it to citizens to work out between themselves.

He still built up a ton of excitement around all of the Apple products. MP3 players were drab and virtually useless before the iPod - a few years later everyone had one.

Apple products have influenced design across the hardware and software landscape (for the better IMHO).

Without the iPhone, there just wouldn't be any exciting phones out right now. It changed the playing field and helped bring us the G1 and Palm Pre.
