    I would imagine (I have no numbers) that lots of companies that can afford a CIO also purchase Red Hat for the support in addition to having an internal Linux team of their own.

    It would take a week for someone to get me a message from the coast by way of the mail car on the train. Now with these "telegraph" lines everywhere I get bombarded with messages sent directly to me almost every dang day. It's like being surrounded by silent screams all the time. I barely have time to watch the crops grow after I plant them. I say, if it can't be communicated by smoke signal (which ensures the message is important enough that the sender take the time to build a fire) then it's too far away from me to be of any import. And you're on my lawn...

    At 20 pags a day you could read this cover to cover in less than two months. Weigh that against having the knoweledge in your head for much longer. You won't remember everything, of course, but you will know a lot more about javascript than you did before. Read 40 pages a day and you are done in less than a month.

    I can't stress how great is is to write a application from Win 7 using Visual Studio 2010 and target the mono framework and then copy those files over to a Linux PC and or Mac with zero code changes and it all still works. I've done this. It's awesome. I don't think C# is the end all be all language to nkow. I'm loving what I'm learning with RoR and Python and I can't wait to use those platforms more...but Mono is greatness. That's my objective opinion.

    But you can have approved apps on the Apple appstore and write your own apps and install them. Just join the developer program ($99), write your xCode and install it on your phone. Bam! Mr. Jobs doesn't come and tell you you can't do it. It's legit.

    Then what's the difference between Apple's app store and the Official Market Place? If I have one official app store to choose from and hundreds of malware infected stores...how is that a choice?
