I'm sure this discussion will be flooded with global warming deniers, but if you actually read Dyson's opinions, he believes that global warming IS happening and we ARE to blame.

His only complaint with the science is that he feels that some of the computer models are fudged to make the results look worse than they might actually be.

Of course, his opinion on this seems utterly pointless to me. The man is a physicist, specializing in solid-state and quantum physics. He's no more qualified to analyze the science behind climate change than an electrical engineer is to build a bridge.

Forget the economy, and health care, and two wars, and terrorism, and a weak government in the nuclear-armed Pakistan, and global warming, and the torture of people who never even received a trial. This issue, right here, is what matters. Obama was elected because "big media" bought the election, and now he's gonna come down hard on all us poor innocents.

Apple uses the same components as everyone else when they build their products. It's not as if they have super-secret semiconductor fabs that only they can buy from. You can get identical hardware to a Mac, and it will be much cheaper without that shiny white apple logo on the box.

Oh, and I'm glad your nano still works. Mine broke after two years of very light use (only ever took it on bus/plane trips). But I'm sure as hell not going to complain about Apple's reliability when comparing them to MS, and their oh-so-shitty 360 construction.
