those do exist - only you cant have any (HaHA [in nelson voice])
no seriously they do exist - they are used for Alzheimer's and are very interesting. (actually when you think about it, any treatment for Alzheimer's would be one that makes you smarter;)
i find that if i rely on store employees there is only 2 outcomes:
1) i get ripped off 2)i get an inferior product because they dont have the best stuff available.
most recently experienced when i went to a BB to check out netbooks - they had never heard of the samsung nc10 (which has by far the best battery life [8hours]) and wanted to sell me the aspire or eee.
the lesson is - the best person to make a decision for you, is yourself.
not to mention the loss on customer loyalty programs (read: reward zone) -- i do almost all my electronics shopping at best buy (or online) for just that: the rewards, its basically 5% back to the pocket on top of a price match (or 7.5% if you are a silver member)
it surprised me that none of the electronics stores in england have a loyalty programme
its just unfortunate that the internet banking systems we use dont automate that level of security.
personally i'd rather download a small application to do my banking - that way i can be sure that the transactions are being isolated (with a different port etc..)
i hope you realize that/. has more than just an American audience, and that this is a very good thing: regardless if their English isn't as good as yours or mine. i would appreciate it if you wouldn't berate people just for the sake of berating them so that people who don't have great English skills don't feel like they aren't wanted here. they are wanted here, it is attitudes like the one expressed above that are not
In five years an OLED screen may well be a couple of bucks.
fyi-- oled screens are quite common for phones these days.
a quick google search yields this:
http://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=1873 so the first phone with an oled screen in the US was in 2006. im too lazy to search all the current phones with it - but if you are curious i'd highly recommend you check if your phone is (it'll make you feel super cool if it does)
i have a hard time trusting a company who has a $10billion budget but uses CG images that are worse than i can do in less than a weekend (including rendering time [no seriously]).
dont forget potential tax breaks - also most countries would give Dell numerous other incentives just to get their business onshore (think environment regulations or tax write offs)
There once was a man from Nantucket
Whose dick was so long he could suck it.
While wiping his chin,
He said with a grin,
"If my ear were a cunt, I could fuck it."

and here is the extended version of the original

There once was a man from Nantucket
Who kept all his cash in a bucket.
But his daughter, named Nan,
Ran away with a man
And as for the bucket, Nantucket.
part 2:
But he followed the pair to Pawtucket,
The man and the girl with the bucket;
And he said to the man,
He was welcome to Nan,
But as for the bucket, Pawtucket.
part 3:
Then the pair followed Pa to Manhasset,
Where he still held the cash as an asset,
But Nan and the man
Stole the money and ran,
And as for the bucket, Manhasset.
uhh with 4 metrics you have only three numbers per.
standby, talk time, 3g, & 2g.
moreover those look like manufacturer ratings - real usage is a bit different.
i know for a fact that you dont get 5.5 hours of 3g usage from *any* phone. moreover 200-300 hours talk time is also a joke (that must be your standby number)
no really it cant. from the summary- it works with surface tension, so i can only assume you'd need to be on the surface for this to work.

yeah thats true, but those little products are the ones with the most mark-up on them. others include cabling, media, & paper

really!? the paradox of that statement is fascinating.

or you can send to more than one recipient...
sharks with lasers attached to the HEADS!!!
most hilarious part of the video is the opening segment where she is getting some food out of the fridge, LMAO.
ok to be completely fair -- she is elderly and their bodies get do fat naturally, especially if they are diabetic.
i think you'd be better off just buying stock in the places that sell alcohol in Peru.

uhh.. they usually take a print of your hands and feet when you are born. but im sure you dont remember that.
it is generally considered uncouth to comment about your own company at /.
especially if you are not openly saying it.
regardless, i and most others here are definitely applauding your efforts
you mean like these: http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/12/22/1927238
links to your Slashdottings/Diggs? nothing personal - but i just dont believe the claims you are making.

for the record - i dont work as a graphic artist

i have more of a problem with using the tag 'story' - i mean could we have a less useful tag? are there any articles that couldn't get that tag?

nothing gets me excited like new menus!!
[I think its the hardware that deserves our attention (after all software is just software and will typically be available across many phones)]
but that wasn't necessarily negative publicity. i mean her entire selling proposition is sex (granted - through a muted enough form to display on TV).
it would be an entirely different thing if she was a school teacher or a politician. would the 'any publicity is good publicity' adage still hold?
