    It WILL release that energy as heat, and fast, because it will be an ideal short circuit. That shouldn't worry you, though. An explosion is the rapid expansion of gas, it doesn't say anything about large amounts of heat dissipated rapidly, though that is the usual way. Liquid nitrogen could explode when mixed with ignited thermite, though the heat isn't released rapidly. In this case, there will be a quick release of heat, but it can't be transferred fast enough to a large enough volume of gas, so the capacitor pack won't explode upon crushing, it will merely turn into a molten lava-like substance, quite probably some distance from the passengers. And there is no way this side of reality that the electrical energy will get out of it at this point, that's why it's called a short circuit, because the electricity takes the absolute shortest path.

    How the hell do you turn off a maniac with an AK-47 or MAC-11 like a switch? You do realize most high school shooters are almost identical with the slashdotter stereotype? Second of all, those idiots being obsesive about computers doesn't mean that some of us aren't obsessive about other shit, like specific shows on the Discovery channel (read crime shows), and related literature. So, I'd be spooked if I were them.

    Technically, sodium lamps (especially low pressure ones) are a tad more efficient and just as long lasting as current mass-market Solid State Lighting solutions. It's beyond me why they haven't obliterated CFLs.

    Says you. I hate incandescent and yellow fluorescent lights. Halogen - tolerable. LED and bluish fluorescent - heaven on earth. But then again I only like sunlight on a cloudy day - when it's steel/cobalt gray. My $0.02.

    Yes, me too. About the weapons, and everybody's right to own anything. Thing is, I was making an engineering analysis and criticism of the vehicle, not on your personal choices. The other issue I have with these pseudo-military vehicles, is that for no additional safety for the person inside, they majorly endanger other passengers in other, lighter vehicles. So, to put this in another way, your right to drive without breaks finishes where public roads begin. Cheers!
