You need GC and OS support for that. Hell, a properly done GC, with OS assistance should be all but invisible performance-wise.

better idea, leave default swappiness, even slightly increase it, use appropriate block IO scheduler for load leveling. Done. Now you effectively have more ram than you'll ever need on the given machine configuration.

Your sig says it all. Hack up a coping mechanism, and hope you manage to leave something useful for the world, put one in for all us burnouts, this useless (and depressed if judging by choice of words) druggie doesn't know if he's going to live to 25, let alone anything else. I think it has to do with ever so suckier parenting these last generations, leaving scarred and cynical children, unable to give or accept emotional care. Without it, it's plenty hard to feel a push do to anything with your life if no one appreciates it (god knows mom and dad only ever cared about being "normal"). Put one in for me soldier, I know I'm just a random dude on the internet, but just keep going, when I die, I want to know I amounted to more than worm food, even if my worth is limited to this post. Troubleshooting windows is much more complicated than pasting a few well documented commands. I speak from experience, Linux causes less headaches than windows, it's just that people are idiots and want their blue E precisely where their nephew put it years ago. Don't get me wrong, I'm not specifically chasing away Windows users calling them stupid, it's simply coincidence, because I consider the general populace to be idiots. I'm okay with it, Linux does me well on my machines, the others might use CP/M for all I care, they can suck my dick while they are at it.

I hate ritzy places. I recently came to this conclusion. The setting is nice, but the people are intolerable. I lost vision and movement 2 a.m. in a rock bar, leaning on the column I was lucky to get to, sitting on the floor, trying to recuperate (the weed was stronger than I though), and within the minute security came to direct me to the exit, I barely knew where I was, for a few seconds. No "are you okay?", no "need an ambulance?" (I didn't, but that is beside the point.), just "get out, and don't come back". Am I the only one who thinks this is wrong?
