You buy them for that 1%...and the status. And I don't know if atrocious to drive is the right word as they generally are a drivers car (read if you don't know what you're doing, esp on an older Porsche - like a 911 Whale Tail- you are going to spin it out).
Mod parent up. The achievements of the participants of the X-Prize should be a pretty big indication that there IS commercial interest in space flight.
But you can't shoot them in the back, you can't shoot them if they are unarmed, and you can't shoot them if they do not pose a threat. The law isn't based off of feelings, but rather actual physical threats.
I don't think that's very true at all. Lots of workers don't have "desktops". It's not uncommon to see laptops stay docked 24/7, but the department still isn't replacing them with desktops when the have the chance.
I would suspect it is because laptops are multifaceted in application. Likewise, as we see netbooks become faster and more efficient, they will start to replace traditional laptop uses.
You know what's not great, or at least with the most recent rev (last 2 years), is their terrible connection manager. It is a complete bear to get it to follow the right kind of encryption for Wifi. And then it shuts down Zero config.
Zeroconfig is an extremely well executed program. In XP at least (like the rest of the OS, it took a turn for the worse in Vista) you almost NEVER had to futz with a connection. It just worked. It autodetects encryption levels, and prompts you for the right password.
I remember a time, only a few years ago, where even one crash in several hours of use would be seen as unacceptable for software at a major version number release.
What the hell are you talking about? This has been a hallmark of FOSS software for over a decade.
Are you implying that FOSS is all about the crashes? I've got some BSD boxes that beg to differ there, bub
It's ironic. Microsoft could become insolvent tomorrow and vanish off the face of the Earth, and still, at this point, ultimately they would have won.
Yeah, cause it's Microsoft's fault that a bunch of anti-Microsoft script kiddies have been producing shitty software for longer than they've even had dominance on the desktop. *yawn* get a new schtick you fucking turd.
I mean either you're trolling or you..god please say you're a troll.
Instead, it's purely about pleasing the lowest common denominator of mindless end users. Whatever said demographic screams for the loudest, they get.
That pretty much sums up Linux development since when it started.
At this point in life, HFS is working fine, and the drobo is quietly humming away. I'm glad snow leopard was relatively painless to upgrade too, and not sure this would have been the case if ZFS had been included in 10.6.
I doubt that including support for ZFS would have caused a terrible pain. It isn't like it would implement the ZFS files system in an upgrade.
Are you seriously going to suggest that Open BSD could be a replacement for what Windows users generally ask for? How about after *you* set them up with everything they want. Please tell me how they will handle upgrades.
ESXi is more of a bear (in my experience) to wrangle than ESX.Note I mainly put ESX on HP360s. But I use the ESXi at home. It is actually a std config at my company to give new employees cheap boxes, ($500), to put ESXi on for development.
BTW. I am a big VMware fan. Makes my job siiiimple. (IT Ops)
To a well informed person, presented with a multiple of choices, there are some which fit the task better than others. However to an informed person there are only choices.
Many of the people who signed these ARMs really had no idea what they were getting into. Commonly people say, "Well that's their own fault for not knowing better" And sure it's easy to say that when you are a person who has the wisdom to know when you don't know - but many people don't. And the bankers knew their clients didn't really get it. They just didn't care.
If I go to the doctor and he says I need an operation, I can do all the reasearch I want. Get second opinions. But at the end of the day the procedure is up to the doctor's discretion and it is his responsibility to make sure that I am well informed.
It's the Chilean Directional Fragmentation Grenade. We're running our desktops on live munitions....
Come on we're moving away from Windows!
Funny noone gets the repo man comment.
I think if you are logged in, and post in a thread that you moderate on, your moderating is removed.
And if that's true you just undid all of your moderation...

I don't think you understand what's being asked.
Wow. Have you tried not being an ass?

Typically polymaths are also athletically skilled.

I thought you were talking about servers until you suggested dual booting for Windows.
But then you try upgrade OpenBSD...BOOM!

You don't work at a place with a lot of MIT and Harvard grads, do you?
Maybe they like to complain?
So what your saying is: Its not a bug, its a feature?
Where have I heard the before? Hmm.....
Everyday when I support Lotus Notes

Dev environment at home. I have a large environment at home for testing. I left out the 10% because I have no idea how many people would do that.
ESXi is not for 90% of home users. It is built for large scale hosting where VMfusion and Parallels are often used for single client instances.

Running Chrome or Firefox won't stop idiots from opening strange attachments.
Running Linux will.
No. It will only stop the current exploits from being effective.
You wouldn't to happen to own a pretty picture, which you would show us, of all this work would you?
