While I don't mind cookies that much I do mind the retarded EU-mandated cookie-warnings that keep popping on every site possible,
Fortunately there is an addon for that too! I don't care about cookies 2.5.3
Available for Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and some other less popular browsers (no version for IE).
Why would you want a VM with only a single process?
Exactly. There is no point in running a full blown OS just to virtualize a single app or process.
Linux has an option for that, and it's called LXC (Linux Containers).
Old Unices have that too:
Solaris - Zone/Container
AIX - WPAR
HP-UX - vPar
Hypervisors are generally much simpler than full-fledged kernels and have less attack surface, and so they are less likely to be successfully attacked.
Yeah, just like VMware! It's a full-blown Linux OS with additional vmkernel module that takes over control as the hypervisor. Oh, wait...
We already have Sci-Fi works on the supplementary lectures list for Junior High School students in Poland - Stanislaw Lem's "The Cyberiad" and "Mortal Engines" (polish: Bajki Robotów). Some years ago other books by Lem were on the supplementary lectures list for the last classes of primary schools - "Tales of Pirx the pilot" and "Solaris".
in case of hydroelectric: less water needs to go through the turbines
Less power used = less power generated = less fuel used.
But water is not used in the same way as coal is.
Same amount of water enters and leaves the hydroelectric power plant. It's not destroyed in the process like fossil fuels.
Using less energy from a hydroelectric power plant doesn't save water at all.
It's a pity that the Gnome 3 extensions page is a disaster.
No search. No sorting by category. And most useful extensions are already outdated (=blocked) if you run Gnome 3.4.
"There are many such countries out there, but what has not been done to date, is a serious quantity of land to be bought by a serious number of citizens, an army mounted, and a genuine declaration of war"
What about Israel? Isn't it how this country has been created?
It's even funnier if you know Polish or other slavic languages. Niesluchowski seems to be a Polish surname and it can be translated as "not-hearing" or "not-listening":D ("nie" = no, "sluch" = hearing). So it's no surprise that he didn't care about what SETI FAQs say.

"News for Nerds, Stuff that Mattress". There, fixed that for you.

What do uncontacted tribes think when they see our passenger jets and cargo ships? Gods?
Yup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C...
"indigenous people die from smallpox and guns and other unknown diseases" Yeah, guns are the worst disease - there is still no vaccine for it.
Bada dum tsss!
Great! Now everyone on the bus will see on the e-ink display what I am doing on the LCD. All the private messages, photos, etc.
Metallica cut their hair.
So did Bruce Dickinson. And he is still fucking metal!
1000CHF notes are also available (1000CHF ~= 1100USD; 500EUR ~= 677USD).
You can already charge your iPhone wirelessly - in a microwave oven!
Linux Containers are matching all your points except 6.

I'm sure it'll popularize finger-cutting among iPhone thieves...

Only USB 2.0 ports in a pricey 2013 laptop? Hello, the year 2000 called and wanted its technology back!

A nation that fears to teach real science is doomed to fail. Teachers shouldn't fear to teach about evolution, big bang, solar system, etc.

Bukkake squids FTW!
What about UNIX copyrights and patents? Will they go to VMware, or to the other buyer which will buy the rest of the old Novell?
Wouldn't be surprised if MS made an offer to "more prominently" position Windows or grant Dell some "MS premium platinum reseller" PR-badge either.
They already put "Dell recommends Windows 7" on nearly every page.
http://www.pidjin.net/2010/01/25/iwish/ I wish that would have happened at the Apple event... :)))
