just saw a show on oil shale, and supposedly (as of it's writing at least) the method for extracting oil from it consumed more energy than the oil it self could produce. Was on the discovery channel last night.
then again, I must admit I haven't gone a long way into researching it myself, just figured I'd armchair and admit i'm arm-chairing.
exactly! and just think of how pissed you'll be when you get that data bill.. streaming audio for a whole month.. yowza! just because it COULD be used, doesn't mean it HAS to be used.
now if I used it for google or facebook, I'd expect it to be used. I guarantee my google voice is being stripped for keywords for targeted advertising.. because throwing in random words makes for some fun web browsing.
saying bondage a few times every call for example or in a few texts
there is the major difference, natural speech. I think it'll really become useful once it all becomes standard, and is "always listening".
at present on my android phone I have to go to search, then hit the mic, and remember the phrase that does the right action. I use the hell out of "navigate to" I occasionally use "note to self" rarely I use the "call" and the "message to " is a bit.. er, unruly and I don't honestly remember any of the other ones.
while I am happy to see it getting better, I would prefer to remove the step of activating it with a button, I'd also like to remove the required name of siri.. let me call it jeeves.. or zombie minion!
"Zombie minion! get me some hamburgers" "did you mean in-n-out master" "why yes.. yes I did" "turn left.. arrrrrggggg"
We have a deal with the local county cops where we pay them or donate to police charity or something and they patrol our area (which IMO ought to be illegal but apparently isn't and no I'm not talking about taxes) but we are also covered by city cops.
My cousin is a sheriff in CA and the county in most places won't pay overtime. Instead they offer "rent-a-cop" time. I am very against "the rich" abusing "their power" but this is something I completely understand and agree with. If a community wants to organize and "vote with their wallets" there isn't any reason they shouldnt be allowed to.. since it also ends up helping the officers in most cases.
are there exceptions? of course. but they should be handled harshly. regardless of whether you are on real time, or "rent a cop" time.. you're still a cop, and you enforce for everyone, not JUST that community.
personally, I'd prefer they put someone up against both the d's and r's.. the change this country needs is a change in our thought process. two closely related parties with a few minor differences just isn't working.
vote pirate! (if only we can get one running, heh)
this. lobbying/contributions needs to be called what they are, a bribe. there was a point in time where, yes, money was needed. ALOT of money for campaigning, but we live in a different world.
your commercials are annoying, if I want to see you smear "the other guy" you can do it in a debate, face to face. if people believe in you, they can and will donate their time..
go do interviews for "ad time", pump your web site, stand on your own two feet like any of us have to.
is it as "effective" as it is today? how much has voter turnout increased since the advent of "targeted marketing"
this would only work if everyone has to do it.. sure, the rich would have an advantage, already having the money to put towards politicking.. but for the most part, they don't want to.. which is why they "donate" to run by proxy.
truly, until there is an equal and opposing option (IE dislike) "like" can't really mean anything other than "talked about". and I know i've talked about bad things a whole lot more than good things in my lifetime.
it's fairly easy to create graphene (at least from what I've read), I wonder if using the pencil and tape method could give you a mini solar panel to play with.
at boot, key required.. then it starts the OS and I have to login to the phone been an option since the last update (droid2 with 2.3.3) was always there in honeycomb, actually my xoom is about to go through the LTE upgrade and the instructions say wipe or encrypt the device before shipping it.
been meaning to really look into what all it's doing, but it's pretty low on my list being a personal phone..
I've been wondering lately how this would handle my android phones that are allegedly 100% encrypted.. guess I have to fly to florida and go really fast down a main road to find out, hrm..
hate to say it, but for the most part this is true. if it were useful for everyone, in general, it would survive on it's own. Sort of one of the points of open source really.
I'd have to agree with the dock.. I hate that thing command + space and type what im after.. if what im after can't be found that way.. I command + space "terminal"
for the most part as long as you keep in mind that nothing given is ever free.. you should be fine. if rooted, change that default password if jailbroken.. change that password if you see an app you like, pay for it with money, or personal information.. your choice.
too legit

not that their squabbling later in life didn't provide a "human nature study" of sorts.. but it sorta strikes the point
more than 75% of em did encrypt it! took years to figure out "snake, sun, dancing guy, boat, snake" meant "please drive through"
you call it a payoff.
they call it overtime.
you too can pay off the cops, all you have to do is ask.
what more do you want?
actually.. i take that back
it works that way on the xoom.. not on the droid. dumb!
