I thought the whole thing was just a super-slimy way to raise a ton of cash off the backs of legitimate businesses... that chose stupid names for themselves.
Are you so sure? Norton will quarantine files that aren't even infected or malware. I found this out when trying to install some hardware drivers that were flagged and deleted on my behalf because it provided a "bad experience" for other people.
What a sorry POS that software has to be that it justifies its existence by creating fake drama with intentional false positives.
A more rational pannable surround could be implemented with just four speakers using Ambisonics. It isn't patentable and doesn't sell lots of speakers so it will continue to be ignored.
At one place I worked they used IM extensively in-house to send messages. It was a bit weird when someone two cubes over messaged you but for quick updates it is more efficient than getting up and disturbing neighbors with a voice conversation.
That's complete bullshit coming from ULA proxies. From day 1 SpaceX has designed their hardware with an eye toward future upgrades to man-rated status. The progress on Dragon V2 shows that they have every intent of putting people on their launcher and will be damn sure it is safe for them. Just because they don't buy components from the rest of the space industrial complex doesn't mean that they are cutting corners unsafely.
The tea partiers traded a big/incumbent business agenda for zealotry. It's not a move in a positive direction because you can't negotiate with zealots.
I've always wondered why so many places expect you to fill out lengthy form fields when most applicants are going to be rejected anyway. Why have them enter their address and schools they attended and other minutiae that isn't needed to weed out candidates. I don't even understand why you always have to supply your race, disability, and veteran status in the US if all you're effectively doing is submitting a resume rather than formally applying for the position.
All they need is name, email, phone, and a resume/CV. The rest can be pulled out with software that scans for relevant info.
It's only a good idea for the under 30 crowd and the farsighted. Otherwise you don't get much bang for the buck once presbyopia sets in down the line (which it will).
It won't fall on any programmer's shoulders. All it requires is a prosecutor, judge, and jury who don't understand technology. None are in short supply.
Then the solution is to lock employees out of email when they're on vacation, not delete what could be an important communication.

Unidirectional broadcasting has lower overall costs than packet switching anyone's data willy nilly for free.
Yeah but eventually the only people you can e-mail with will be old Koreans.

It costs extra to have editors redact all the bits about evolution.
I did. Rotating mass is subjected to its own inertia. No "force" is pulling it outward.
Beyond this limit, outward centrifugal forces...
I stopped reading at this point unless the writer can explain where these mysterious "centrifugal" forces emanate from.

From the promos it looks like he doesn't even know how to generate properly formed XML:

Silly me. Wasting all day writing m4 macros to preprocess an assembly language. Should be doing it all in Javascript according to Slashdot wisdom.
Transoceanic cables have repeaters positioned along their length. They can't be upgraded to newer tech without help from the US Navy.
You can't qualify as a work from home examiner until you've put in 3 years in DC.

The continued embargo against Cuba is more about pandering for Cuban-American votes than enforcing any foreign policy.
It's based on the Google end-to-end browser extension which handles client side key management on its own and isn't subject to simple MITM attacks.
No comments since 2010 + low enough UID = zombie account subverted to look like a legit user.
That's a serious first world problem he's got there.
Shouldn't you "mask" sensitive data by putting it into a separate table with stricter access privileges.

One of these days a hash collision will happen on an innocuous file and the jackboots will ruin someone's life over it.
