Most battery compartments with the cells arranged side by side are wired in series. Just because they aren't installed end to end doesn't mean that isn't how the circuit is constructed.
With this system it is impossible to connect multiple batteries in series. They all have to be in parallel. This has negative implications if there is a difference in voltage between two cells unless they are all isolated through a diode (efficiency loss). With common cells this limits applications to the 1.2V-1.5V range and necessitates the use of a DC-DC converter to step up the voltage for any semiconductor based electronics (more efficiency loss).
Google is clearly blatantly discriminating here but it is for the purpose of making a point about an unfair system. Conveniently there are no laws prohibiting pay discrimination based on sexual orientation (race and gender? watch out). Consider it a form of corporate civil disobedience. They have enough clout to influence their industry and the government. Google is to be commended for truly living up to the obligations of being a corporate *citizen* and not just a money making machine.
Reading the reports it doesn't seem like they accomplished anything of substance. One foolish guy working on bunker buster bombs talked too much and I'm sure he's got his resume polished up by now. It seems the strongest case against them is for money laundering and tax evasion will probably be thrown in as well.
I distinctly remember them saying a few years ago they didn't want to go public with the company so they'd retain complete control.
That was before the economy imploded and Musk has now run out of cash to float the company on his own. The only choice for survival was to either attract private investment or a public offering. I'm sure Musk feels the latter is the lesser of two evils for maintaining control into the future. Once he rebuilds his fortune he can buy back enough shares to call the shots again.
That reminds me of another Apple ][ text game where you had to sell tickets for the school play and you could allocate your funds in different ways to help sell more tickets. One day I found out that you could order negative quantities of supplies and your account would be credited rather than debited. You could make millions without selling any tickets at all:)
I think the linked article can be summarized as complete bullshit spouted out the ass-mouth of someone with a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. You can't justify the harm caused by high frequency trading by speculators with no interest in making a true investment. The simple question to ask anyone defending this BS is where does all the money these traders make come from?
This is New York. An officer can be standing on a corner, look a jaywalker in the eye and will wish him a pleasant day before considering living up to his oath.
Thank you. I know it is present progressive rather than a gerund. Hence, it hasn't become one yet. That's part of the joke:) I love it when the grammar nazis try to tear my sig apart while missing that extra bit.
Reverse engineering and design for interoperability is legal in the US. Unless there is an active patent or AOL's code is incorporated into VLC they don't have a leg to stand on and are just engaging in bully tactics. Considering that this is AOL I'm not surprised that they're likely to shift to the SCO business model and squeeze all they can from the fumes of their diminished empire.
Also take note that much of SpaceX's engineering staff is drawn from existing players in the industry and collectively they have a lot more experience in developing spacecraft than their 8 year history would suggest.
Forget about trying to make HTML into dependably formatted print output. Just use a library like Cairo to render what you want into a PDF and provide that to the users.
Look at all the hype the shiny "A4" name has garnered them despite it being essentially made with commonplace cores that are already widely used. The switch to Intel took away the special "uniqueness" factor that Macs had on 68k and PPC. This is just a marketing ploy to convince the fanboys that these new platforms have something extra special that you can't get with any old beigebox phone.
They're not just a new entrant. With their significantly reduced launch costs they are a game changer. The Falcon 9 has the big guys sweating bullets and the Falcon 1 has the little guys doing the same.
From the article it seems that the ads are part of on demand publications that you choose to have sent to you. So this is definitely an opt-in sort of thing. It is conceivable that printers with preview displays could be perverted to show ads as well but that doesn't seem to be in the works yet.
Open primaries are the best way to be fair to independent voters who would otherwise be locked out of a crucial part of the election process as they are in states with closed primaries. What should be done is that you are only permitted to vote in one primary of your choice. An ink stain on the hand or a time stamp when you check in can be used to invalidate you if you show up at another balloting location.
If you actually read the article you'll see that 'The Simpson's' is drawn by a Seoul based (i.e. South Korean) company and has no direct association with North Korea. The poorly written article then goes on to mention a collaboration between the north and south on a film that again has no direct bearing on 'The Simpson's'.
You're not alone. I've noticed/. dropping my comments in the past few months as well. Sometimes they show up on my personal page but not on the discussion thread.
Polygraphs aren't lie detectors. They are used to assess truthfulness. Much of the magic is not in the machinery itself but in subjecting the person under assessment to unfamiliar, semi-stressful conditions while asking probing questions. It's basically a game of manipulation for the polygrapher.
Actually the right lane is the default lane and the left lane is for passing. If you aren't passing anyone or preparing for a left exit you shouldn't be in the left lane. It is a violation to do otherwise.
Why not ponder it over a cup of COFFEE.

I second Euler's identity. It's the foundation for much of modern technology.

Large generators of the type used by hospitals run on diesel.
....someone ought to write a GUI front end for it.
Make it web based at that.

and it never holds a stock for longer
So this is really an automated gambling system rather than a tool for investment.
