my bad, I thought you where talking about the VM (virtual machine, not virtual memory) code.
Marque off, is that you?
this stuff is not some version 1.0 product. The base software is over 20 - 30 years old, it's very rare to see BSOD type situations.
CICS applications seem pretty interactive to me.
windows NT ran in 32 bit mode.
consolidating servers to save money. The horror!
search for x3270. redhat includes it as part of the distro.
especially considering that a large identity theft ring was broken up not too long ago.
then you have the problem of the translator producing crappy slow code. then you need programmers to optimize the code. you also have the problem of inputting the analysis. If your analysis is wrong, you still have to fix it.
so what is exactly wrong with Xfree? be specific. In my opinion, it is a excellent implentation of the X windows system.
There is a source wrapper that gets compiled. the main driver is binary only.
I've always been curious about bartending. It looks like it may be kind of cool. if you don't mind, can you post your experiences the next time there's a "the IT job market sucks" story on slashdot?
Bravo. Good troll.
are you saying this because you have real experience with it, or because linux is l33t?
first toast Cat got your tongue? (something important seems to be missing from your comment ... like the body or the subject!)
My solution for this on windows and linux is to use virtual desktops. you have one for mail, a couple for browsing, some for VStudio/Xemacs/Vi. works great, and no taskbar clutter.
For those who like to get their work done, redhat does all this without any user intervention during install. you debian wankers can fart around if you want sound, but some of us like to get work done.
You don't want to be distracted by working sound after the install? Redhat 8.0 didn't prompt me at all with any sound related configuration.
damn, where is profane motherfucker when you need him?
What's so bad about that? why not support the distro with the largest marketshare?
They do allow access to all the code for their distro. All the code is there on ftp.redhat.com.
Notice how all this started during the hight of the bubble of the Clinton administration?
but OS X only runs on apple hardware.
they are probally using cheap ass intel hardware =-(
Your probally thinking of having different LPARs on the same machine. The RS/6000 (p-series, whatever) do that now. you have multiple virtual servers running on the same machines. The technology has been in mainframes and as/400 machines forever. ( sun has machines that can do this too, I think )
